Do Hellcats make for good police cars?
>>28900308From a realistic everyday perspective? No. They’re going to be much more expensive to run and maintain than a standard cruiser. They have the ability to do all of the normal police car stuff but it’s not cost effective at all. Usually when a PD has a Hellcat, Vette or other performance car, it’s from a bust or seizure and gets used as an example. They rarely operate them as normal patrol vehicles and usually only bring them out for specific reasons.
>>28900352Local HP where I live have both Challengers and Mustangs.
Sure, at least they can actually catch criminals.
>>28900308>arresting people and putting them in the same compartment as you
>>28900352>much more expensive to run and maintain than a standard cruiserits just a v8 car with a oem blower on it.
>>28900308The Ford interceptors are faster funny enough.
police shouldn't be trusted with over 185hp.
>>28900308My state has a street racing task force and they have a fleet of hellcat challengers and Durangos. Saw them run down some poor groid in a 20 year old civic a couple months ago kek
>>28900308If you watched any police chases on YouTube you'd know that they run the steelies and taller profile tires, like Chally Chad's, for a reason. Mild off-roading and kerb hopping would destroy those Hellcat wheels in no time.
>>28900372You’re not wrong, but let’s look into it a little further and see what a Hellcat has over a standard cruiser spec RT. Hellcats get much worse fuel mileage, they require premium gas, they have much more expensive tires, especially the wide body cars like in OPs post, they have the big Brembos with very expensive two piece rotors in the front and more affordable but still more expensive slotted rotors in the back, their brake pads are more expensive, the 0w40 PUP oil is more expensive, they have electronically adjustable suspension which is very expensive when it goes wrong etc. To downplay that they’re not much more to maintain as a V6 or RT Charger/Challenger is lie.TLDR; all consumables are much more pricey, fuel is more expensive, suspension issues are more expensive and any engine/transmission work will cost more. >t. >>28900308No idea, but my local sheriff's department just added a C8 Stingray to their undercover fleet. Asset forfeiture from a drug dealer. They have a bunch of cool cars that they use for speed traps now.
Helly Welly
>>28901713They're just fags that want to race everyone for free and can just arrest everyone after they race. Fuck em
