I have finally found the perfect road. Rural Spain, zero traffic. I have a chink 300ccc "sport" bike and I'm thinking about upgrading soon. Do you think a supersport would be overkill for this kind of road? I'm considering buying a Ninja 400 instead or a faired sv650.

Mate bought a brand new husqvarna 701 last year.
Almost immediately the clutch started making weird noises and was slipping along with miscelaneous transmission issues.
Sent it in for warranty and they just went "yeah not our problem, you'll have to pay out of your own pocket".
300 bucks just for an oil change that he has to haul the bike in to an approved stealership and 700 bucks for them to open up the clutch and go "I ain't seeing shit in here" and slap it back together.
He paid a grand for them to not do anything and has to pay 300 bucks for every oil change because "muh warranty".
I told him to just do his own maintenance and fuck the warranty because obviously they're not honouring it.
>>
>>28905295
>yeah not our problem, you'll have to pay out of your own pocket"
So what was the problem they found but refused to fix?
>>
>>28905305
No one really knows, they didn't do anything to it and the transmission is still making weird rattling noises along with the clutch.
Mate doesn't care anymore, just rides it till it blows and then is going to drag it to the stealership and leave it there, taking his money back.

motorcycles are gas chambers too.

I'm sick of slimy americans claiming that riding a motorcycle is more ecologically friendly when it burns nearly just as much gas.

the 2 wheeled gas chamber only weighs 600 pounds as opposed to the 5000 pound gas chamber but the two wheeled gas chamber produces more NOISE as well.

The gas chamber turns the gas in to
gas chamber exhaust
noise
and that concentration camp oven produces heat at the same time.

So, I obviously don't stop every time at the same gas station, and this is probably laranoia, but on my last trip I got a chance to fill up a carbed engine on ethanol free fuel for a $.90 premium cost. I've been noticing my mog dropping on my single cylinder bike since last summer, from 47mpg down to 42mpg. Lo and behold, I somehow got right back up to 47mpg this weekend.

Im aware this is bait but id like to mention more fuel economy friendly bikes still produce far and away more pollution than a 4 wheel counterpart due to different emissions regulations
Not to mention the speed at which tires are replaced, which are probably a much bigger worry in the short term given that tires make up such a large majority of microplastics

let's try to think about the way matter is conserved.

The way we pump carbon from under the ground.

Let me try it... Give me a second to try it since I am not spider man.
when we burn 6 pounds of fuel from under the ground....

when we burn 1 gallon of gas from under the ground...

oxygen atoms are heavier than carbon atoms.

when the gas burns, the carbon grabs a hold of 2 oxygen atoms when it comes out of the gas chamber's exhaust pipe,

then

That 20 pounds of carbon dioxide goes every where.

The gas chamber exhaust from hitler's army on 4 wheels in 1945 is still in the atmosphere.

The trees dont "suck it in"

IF the tree DOES absorb the 5.5 pounds of carbon in 1 gallon of gasoline (in ~5 months time),

then... the tree has to grow 5.5 pounds heavier from every gallon of gas chamber exhaust? That doesnt make sense. There are millions of gas chambers.

I burn 1 gallon of gas... The 5.5 pounds of carbon is still there.

am I really going to expect that the trees are going to grow 5.5 pounds heavier from every gallon of burned gas chamber exhaust?

From how many millions of gas chambers?

That doesn't make any sense.

The carbon doesn't go no where. The gas chamber isnt a black hole... The trees are not vacuum cleaners.

That's a pretty damn road biased tire, anon. If it was on dirt, well, that's one of those things where, if you really want to go fasta, you can go find dirt roads alone and hit some 90 turns at increasing speed, crossed up and foot out, until you can intuit how much your front tire can handle before it or the road surface gives.

it was asphalt and very nice one, i guess i was just stiff as the pace was too fast for me, but i didn't feel comfortable leaning and taking those airpins at steep uphill and downhill inclines and that made everything much more difficult and started taking them worse and worse.
maybe i should just go back and do the same road at my own speed and "train" in some way to use better position and getting better.
Or i just suck and kms going off a cliff or into karen's SUV coming from the other side i guess.

R6 made 120hp out of it's 600cc engine but you had to run it at like 12krpm to even feel that.
Modern bikes do less peak horsepower but have access to it lower. Blame Ducati for making Monster, then Suzuki for making a version of monster for non-masochists(SV650) and finally Yamaha for looking at it and saying we can get that kind of performance with parallel twin which resulted in CP2 and MT07.
Their success prompted either adoption of similar engines at higher displacements(CP3) or modifying the existing i4's to run well at lower rpms in ways I don't understand.

Spec warriors cried 99% of actual riders felt the new bikes were more powerful(1% could keep the bike in its powerband all the time).

Hello Finsker anon. By cruisers, I mean sit on your tail bone and feet and hands forward and too short suspension to absorb any bumps. Yours looks like a normal naked bike. I'd say get a normal naked bike or an ADV instead of cruisers. Sport bikes are comfy too, but only on highways.

It's not my fault you use "astroturf" every time you seethe about anons and their hogs. You don't even use the word correctly, and then you call other anons stupid.
>>
>>
>>28907246

as in fake grass roots. It's used correctly.

Are you saying hotwing is being paid by Harley to post his dyna? a bike that has been out of production for NINE YEARS? Anons talking about what bikes they like is as grassroots as you can get. You have inverted reality. What if another anon came in here and said, "Okay, guys, no more posting Suzukis." If you post your old GS1000, you're astroturfing.
>>
>>
>>28907252
hehe looks like a duck
>>
>>28907251
Cool. Which ones are you lying about having again?
>>
>>28907253
No. What I am saying is that harley riders and owners were virtually non-existent here for a long time. Then they tried their own general. It failed.

But why weren't they here? Because this place isn't for them...by their OWN standards. Hence their own general. The majority of harley owners think less of those who support other brands. Not all but most. This is not new. So many harley owners poo-poo jap bikes and euro bikes and their owners. Do you deny this?

The image supported and upheld by harley and their owners was that they were better. Better what? Typically and generally worse motors. Worse technology. Worse chassis. Worse brakes. Worse suspension. No quoted horsepower numbers in reviews. Literally yesterdays technology. And you will pay a premium for it. Emotion driven themes like "muh heritage" and whatnot are so integrated into the image that it fails to ever address the actual shortcomings of the product.

And then what they did to Buell was horrible. Absolutely atrocious. SOP for harley. As a company Harley is shit. As a product most of what they offer is shit to mediocre. But boomers bought it. They ate it up. The image. And now as a direct result of their own poor decisions for literally decades they are getting scared. I am of the opinion that hardley should die with the boomers. They deserve it.

Hoisted on their own petard.

But now harley bros will dominate this general and try to act like this is normal. It's not. I didn't leave harley. Harley left me. Hell I grew up just south of Milwaukee. Just down the road from Sunset Motors. Home of Hogslayer.

Their is a world of bikes out there. Such a shame to be limit yourself with the worst of them.

Wanna here a funny story? I had a hardley owner tell me to buy American after seeing the bike I was riding. A jap bike. While American industry was adopting a, "good enough" philosophy post WW2 (as union labor flourished) the Japanese were excelling in automotive and motorcycles (amongst other industry.) Do you know who helped them in their excellence? An American: W. Edwards Deming. While Deming was being ignored in the USA he was highly, highly respected by the Japanese for his contributions to the excellence and advances in their industry. So highly regarded was Deming in Japan that they established a national quality award named after him. One of the highest awards in the world.

The once prevalent spirit of the USA was effectively rejected in the US and exported to Japan. So when I am told to buy American I buy Japanese now.

I'm not going to read your essay. Anons posting their harleys is not astroturfing no matter your bone to pick with the manufacturer.

eh they like to talk a lot of trash out of nowhere too. the cub posters are funny though. i dont get half of it but theyre funny.
>>
>>28907275
Maybe sure. I don't come here often anymore. I pop in an ask questions from time to time, post up pics and vid links, etc. and typically get crickets. Most riders here seem very noob. Which is fine. Some are cool too...I try to reengage then realize it's mostly a fruitless endeavor. It is what it is.

I have beef with other manufacturers too ya know. And it saddens me that motorcycling in general seems to be dying a slow death. O well ima keep my bikes...waiting on parts right now and have a couple lists of stuff to do to both bikes. Can't decide if I want to drop about 1600 on a Brembo setup. I honestly don't need it. But it's sweet so I just might.

That's a whole lot of words just to say, "I can't get over the banter of some old guys who live in my head rent free so I am going to assume the three or four Harley owners on /dbt/ are being paid to gangstalk me on 4chan." Christ, what a fragile bitch you are.
Anyway, Harley supremacy then, now, and forever. Fuck this one poster specifically, I hope he lowsides on his little plastic crotch rocket. Boo hoo bitch LOL.

I had a cruiser and it was pretty okay, although admittedly my ass got numb after like 500km or so.
I've had sports bikes and those are a big fuck you for my back, they're uncomfortable as hell and everything starts aching and being sore after like 100km.

Sports bikes fuck up my wrists. I'm a fucking wristlet. My back is completely fine and my legs feel like they got a workout, but nothing too bad. But wrists are just gone the farther I go. If I'm in traffic, the clutch hand is the first to go. Cruisers give me tailbone pain, maybe I'm just a monke with a long tail bone.

wrist pain can be indicative of improper body position...use your core muscles to hold your upper body weight. Hand fatigue is also usually indicative of death gripping the bars. Typically inadvertent reaction to hard acceleration or other hard inputs

Today baiku decided to be a pain in my ass again and not hold idle starting in neutral and stalls itself till I give it juice. Why is baiku so sleepy? Battery issue or something else. I got this at ~2200mils and it is at 3600miles now, could it just be valves?
>>
>>28906845
I really like the placement but yeah the routing is dumb AF, especially since Ducati tended to do that really nice, also guess what: for 2500 bucks you can get the racing exhaust setup that fixes it.

Could be. Could also be air filter or a leak.

Depends where you feel the wrist pain. Tendon pain is not uncommon with heavy clutch moments.
That said, please play with the angle of the clutch lever mount to see if more forward or back relative to the bar mount works better or worse for you. If the peak pain is ONLY when actuating the clutch, you either lack the strength or have inflammation. I don't mean this as a personal slight, it just is what it is. First step is lubing the cable (if cable) and changing the angle of the mount relative to the bar.

All of these harleys are super cool. What an excellent manufacturer of motorcycles. These anons on their little Nippon plastic fantastic crotch rockets really just don’t understand what they’re missing and it’s sad to see. I LOVE MY HOG. I encourage each and every anon in /dbt/ to go to their local Harley dealer and test ride a new 2026 Road Glide or a Pan America.Take public transit to get there because you will be riding home on your new Harley Davidson, the financing options available means it’s actually cheaper to buy one than not to. It’s not just a motorcycle — it’s a lifestyle.

tl;dr — WE ALL LOVE HARLEYS and if you don’t own one yet, you NEED TO!
