What car do I get for $150k?
How the FUCK did you actually get the job?
>>28907043I don't have the job anymore. The DCP is aka the "buyout". They're paying me 150k to quit.
>>28907071why did you take buyout?
>>28907071>>28907081 why did you take the buyout?
>>28907026OP is a larping fag, but>Imagine sacrificing a Union protected job for a messily $150K ($105K after tax)Same shit boomers pulled. Destroy everything then cash out.
>>28907026so this dcp is a severance package to reduce employee count. why cant they fire people like every other company? is this some union related thing that prevents termination without cause
>>28907083larping my ass, bro>>28907081The job just sucks. The hours are long, the work is hard, the workplace is as toxic as it gets. $100k a year (or 120 after OT) is nice but it's not worth it anymore.
>>28907092>is this some union related thing that prevents termination without causePretty much. It's actually almost impossible to get truly fired. People get terminated and the union gets them their job back within a week or two.
>>28907097Well you must be really sure of yourself. Delivery driver background isn't going to translate into any different career making 80K plus. Not unless you wanna run your ass off selling XYZ product to schmucks or drive truck with pajeet.
>>28907026You should save the money but if by some miracle you get a job immediately then after you get your first new paycheck I would get a used Ferrari California and put the rest into a down payment on a house
>>28907097I cant relate to your job, but I can relate to the scenario.I just quit HVAC after 13 years, the latter of which I was making $140,000/year, for a job making less than half of that in another field entirely, luckily I'm not a retard and was promoted rather fast so now I'm back around $100k/yearI just woke up one day and realized I hated the way the industry was heading, I hated the way the local market was, and I hated the people within the industry. Weirdest of all was missing the customers. You'd think they'd be the worst part of HVAC but it wasn't even close. Customers could suck but it was awesome seeing how excited people were after I installed their new mini-split or A/C, most people were super grateful. And I say this as someone who thinks most people should be incinerated.anyways, good luck on your new endeavors.
>>28907105>Delivery driver background isn't going to translate into any different career making 80K plusFine by me. I never needed that much money anyway. But it's not the kind of money you can just walk away from. That is... until they offer you a $150k check.
Hope you're not retarded and only quit when you have a job lined up. If not, you probably shouldn't waste it on a car
>>28907097I've worked at UPS and you're right. It is a dogshit job full of shit ass """managers""" and toxic wannabe tough guy shit throughout. It takes a toll on both your body and your mental health. Good on OP for taking the Buyout. me, i personally quit because it was shit. I was just a part time package handler so I wasn't walking away from much.

Does UPS pay mechanics good like their drivers or fuck no
corvette won
>>28907026unironically a 3k civic
you already know the answer
>>28907097LARP.That's just a basic PDF they sent out to a hundred thousand drivers.
>>28907157It isn't though. If you weren't larping then you would know that. Forms on the portal don't have separation dates.
>>28907026Used g90, drive comfy without constant beeping interrupting you.
$5k or less shitbox...
>>28907167the beeping on my kia is quite sensible, like they are aware that people hate superfluous beeps and avoid it, except the speed limit warning that gongs whenever you go even 1 mph above the limit, but, you turn it off, it never comes back onI was gonna say g80/g90
>>28907097so what are you gonna do for work now?
>>28907026Don't be a fucking moron and invest that money instead. It's one thing for /biz/ losers to come in here and tell you not to waste 10K on a car when you could invest it, if you put that shit into a fund for the next 10-20 years you'll get around 300-400K minimum. think about retirement cause social security is a thing that will no longer exist in like 20 years.
>>28907236He can't invest it because he has no job and needs to use it to replace his income in the short term.
the best and likely least kino car of our time + track mods
>>28907464least=last GODSDAMN
>>28907157What with zoomers not sucking it up and just quitting? Unless you have a job already lined up, it's stupid. Can't wait for the blog a year from now talking about how he ran out of money and can't find a job
I'd probably just buy 3 or 4 super clean 90s Japanese car like an early STi Civic sir s13 etc
>>28907473I sucked it up for years. I got tired of sucking. You sound like a woman in an abusive relationship but she'd rather get smacked around by her current boyfriend than be single. If you hate doing something then stop doing it. It's as simple as that.
>>28907465no, least would be very appropriate.
>>28907026Food for thought, you could buy basically any non-supercar classic you want and have a quality restoration done to it. Me, personally, Id get a 240z and have them drop a V8 in it and give it modern seats, audio, AC, and brakes.
>>28907187Welder at SpaceX
>>28907097what the fuck driver career did you have that you were making 100k a year?isn't this just a glorified amazon wagie job? what the fuck am i missing
>>28907608UPS drivers make bank. I make $46/hr right now and it goes to 49 next August. Time and a half every minute over 8.00hrs. and fully company sponsored healthcare so the only deductions are fica and union dues.
>>28907608>>28907621As another UPS cuck here, that's only for union positions. UPS still hires temp drivers and they treat them just as you stated, as Amazon waggies.Takes years of union seniority to get to 100K a year, first you need to work in the warehouse as part of the Union, and then you need to do 5 years as a driver to get the best wages, so you're looking anywhere from 7-10 years with the company to get to the primo pay scale. And depending when you start to drive you might even take a pay cut since drivers start at $25 an hour, so if you've been working inside the warehouse for a while you might already be making $30-ish an hour.Still, it's a great option if you're like me, the kind of simple moron who cannot into studies. You start at $21 an hour, and your raises are guaranteed, no negotiation this or that, no $25 cent raise, and like the driver anon said, any time over your hours is overtime, that includes part timers (for them it's 5 hours, anything over that is overtime no mater what) the heathcare is great, your copays are a pittance, and since they're a toxic work enviroment they're always hiring. When I quit my job and started with UPS, I was basically making the same money I was making at my full time job as a part timer simply because health care ate so much of my paycheck.
>>28907621>>28907659damn anons ICE better be on watch cuz im moving to the us to be a UPS driver
