My dream car would be mid-engined and have double wishbones at all four corners.

I was close when I owned a '72 Lotus Europa, but I really want to check all my boxes this time, and Backbone Chassis are lame. I'd much rather have a monocoque or a spaceframe.

I'd like something cheap and low-powered, and I don't give a shit about fancy interiors.

Is importing an Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 my only option? Used Lotus Elise prices are too high for me.

I can't seem to find any kit cars that fit my needs, A street legal Lotus 23 would be ideal.

The Midlana is ugly and It's hard to find FWD subframes with double wishbones, (older Honda maybe?) and I guess the FFR 818 may be an option maybe, I'm not sure if the rear suspension is double wishbones on those tho?

Personally I want to build a lancia stratos kit
Helluva car
>>
>>28908052
How much are they?
>>
>>28908052

This is a fantastic idea, didn't realize there were kits out there. I wonder what I'd use inplace of the Dino motor? Maybe a Busso?

Go buy a clean MR2 and get over yourself.

What you're asking for is the opposite of a rental car. only the most specialized elite vehicles are designed with these elements
>bones
>midship
>manual
>>
>>28908016
Why do you want that configuration so badly your willing to spend new car money on old jalopies or overpriced erector sets?
>>
>>28908016
mcdonalds suspension is better

Most of the kits are designed around the European market and use parts commonly and cheaply available there, so most of them use some variant or another of Alfa engines.
That said, I do vaguely recall seeing one that was designed for a Toyota V6 similar to what's in the Lotus Evora.
>>
>>28908052
Problem is the kits are gonna be worse than the real thing unless you invest a bunch of time in fixing that typical kit part quality control up.

>>28908090
I'd use a J series and put some ITBs and a 6-1 exhaust on it. Fuck dealing with busso prices and quality issues. Notice that the stratos that didn't have the 6-1 exhaust sound like dogshit and the ones that did sound decent. The exhaust is important.

I think a factory 5 GTM fits that list. You'll never build one and complain an already built one is too expensive.

Lister Bell sells kits that are inquire only for price which probably means 100k for the frame, fiberglass body and most things minus the engine/trans
200k+ prebuilt from montane motors, the us domestic lister bell distributor
Original had a Ferrari v6 but good luck finding one of those, probably want a Toyota/lotus or alfa romeo v6
Montane does the lotus
https://montanemotors.com/turin-corsica-specs
Also an inquire for price situation

What the fuck else would I spend new car money on? A new car? New cars are garbage.

Something faster, more reliable, better looking, more comfortable, easier to repair, and generally better?
>>
>>28908201
Yeah, that's what I said! A car from before electronic nannies!
>>
>>28908204
So funny watching knowers interact with a NPC. The "man" you're talking to can't fix anything or stand more than 1 second of not being comfortable. Be weary of any advice from these kinds.

This.
Just whack this on https://wilhelmraceworks.com/shop/Rear-Double-A-Arm-Conversion-p594211655

Yes but it's only the rears and only on the SW20

There's a rear double wishbone kit for the Lotus Europa as well but the stupid Backbone Chassis is still there.

Looks like the Matra D'Jet might fit the bill though.
