I have to drive my wife's occasionally and it's basic and slow but a bit fun and I look very gay.
>>

Girls car, I know a scorching gilf with a burgundy one.
White interior is never a sensible option.
>>
Abarth is fun, regular is ok but ok is way more than I'd expect out of a $19000-when-new car
>>
>>28910031
Way heavier than you'd expect for a car that size.
>>
>>28910031
Girl will think you have a big PP
Guys will think you’re gay.

My mom had one 10-15 years ago as her 2nd car so I got to drive it a lot. Turbo, 5-speed manual, non-abarth.
I owned an STi for 6 years before that but holy shit I couldn't stop speeding in the 500. I'd get on the highway and dig the throttle a bit, then the turbo would spool and my monkey brain would end me up going 135. Not just occasionally, all the time. I'd constantly look down and see triple digits.
Very poor handling, it loved to understeer in tight and wide corners with or without the driver aids (ABS) fuse pulled. But if you've got whatever the American turbo engine is with a manual, damn it's a roll racer. That turbo kicks and you cannot take your foot off the throttle.

The drug stash/storage in the passenger seat is a neat feature more vehicles could/should have (if not an underseat drawer like a first gen CR-V or Cayenne).
I'd only consider an Abarth of a sport-trim turbo with a manual, and I have been eyeing them now and then since they're getting dirt cheap. I enjoy my slow shitboxes, but it's not like this is a 35+ year old car. 10+ seconds 0-60 on the lower trim models is just abysmal for a hatchback from the last decade.
>>28910042
True, but now that you can pick one up for a few grand they're starting to at least look like decent deals. Even the Abarths are well under $10k at this point as long as it's not some special edition.

How the fuck do you get groceries or pick up a new TV with one of these? Why not just a motorcycle at this point?
>>
>>28910208
We live in an age of 'home delivery'.

I would an Abarth 500
But I swore long ago never to buy another stellantis product
>>
>>28910210
We also live in an age of crippling debt. Coincidence? How about instead of taking the whole day off to wait for the delivery guys you just buy a practical grown up vehicle?

>>28910213
That's a monitor, not a TV. I bet the seats are all the way forward as well.
>>
>>28910215
>you should buy a truck for that one time when you might buy a big screen TV
>>
>>28910215
>taking the whole day off to wait for the delivery
My pregnant wife will be home to accept the delivery guy's BBC while I'm at work.
>>
>>28910217
If you're an adult you should own a house and house chores and projects typically require a pickup. So no you won't be using it for just that one time.
>>
>>28910226
>house chores and projects typically require a pickup
I'm sure the tradesmen that I hired to complete the "chores" and "projects" will be driving a pick-up truck or work van.
>>
>>28910227
lol and people wonder why they're so poor and can't afford anything. I guess they'll leave your wife pleased so it's not a hopeless investment. Happy wife happy life, right?

>How about instead of taking the whole day off to wait for the delivery guys you just buy a practical grown up vehicle?
Sorry, I'm not going to buy a vehicle for faggots and look like a faggot driving one 24/7 for the rare occasion I'd have to pick something bigger up from the store. And I don't watch TV because "I'm an adult".
Also imagine being this poor and retarded you can't afford a delivery service but becoming Poor McDebtlease to buy a useless status symbol for sub 100 IQ mongrels is affordable and apparently a good decision.
>>
>>28910238
>I'm not going to buy a vehicle for faggots and look like a faggot driving one 24/7
You know you're in a Fiat 500 thread, right? Oh the irony.
>>
>>28910243
The 500 is gay no contest but trucks are by and far gayer than a 500.
>>
>>28910243
the smaller the car, the bigger the dick.

you drive a truck to compensate for your little willy
>>
I want a twinair just for the novelty of a 2cyl car, but they're too girly. Also the hard glossy plastic dash looks supremely cheap.
>>
>>28910291
They put that same block in the Panda, Punto, Ypsilon, 500L, and MiTo. Ideally get the 100hp version with the bigger turbo.
>>
I had an Abarth 595 and regret selling it. I've driven supremely more powerful cars but that thing made me smile everything I drove it. Pops from the exhaust were completely random and it had a nice burble. Surprisingly reliable and parts are dirt cheap. Random stuff like the door handles break easily and the interior is cheap but it never let me down. Rattles depend on what day of the week the car was built and the Bluetooth is the worst thing I've delt with in any car. Can't comment on the standard 500's but what makes it a fun car is the exhaust/intake noises. I would pay the extra since they are still very affordable.

My car will take about ten of those, it is also a Fiat.
Goontastic.

Generally they're not as useless as you'd think, especially the 2cyl turbo has proven to be just fine over the years. And they sound a little like a 2CV at high revs. Not nearly as fun to drive as a MINI, 500s actually don't really handle at all.
Personally I'm not a fan of the non-base models with all the plasticky chrome and beige/light interiors with as an anon already mentioned age like milk

>>28910033
This is the way imho, the working man's subcompact
Just as narrow and frugal, but with more room, optional 4x4 and extra pluckiness that makes it much more charming than any 500.

What the fuck are you talking about? Like what? Worse case scenario you're using a trailer, but very few house chores require a bed.
>>
>>28910215
In white countries you can just get shit dropped off to your door without fear of it getting stolen. Lel.

>Like what?
Hedge trimmings, tree trimmings, dirt for the garden, taking trips to the landfill, picking up raw materials for projects, the list goes on and on. Trailers are a fucking pain in the ass, yes even compared to driving a pickup or a practical vehicle. But you'll just pay somebody money to do that for you, right? Yeah stay poor.
>>
>>28911351
>Hedge trimmings, tree trimmings, dirt for the garden, taking trips to the landfill, picking up raw materials for projects,
You can handle literally all of these with eggshit, a towel/cargo mat and some trash bags
>>
On one hand they're Fiat, but on the other hand they still make up most of the cars I see on the road so they must have merit. Bit like the old Pandas which are also not uncommon despite their age.
>>
>>28910031
I literally just found out they're still selling these in America. I haven't seen one on the road in years it feels like. What a gay car
>>
>>28911351
you can literally do most of these with a trailer.
Hell if you dont mind fucking up your interior, you can do most with an estate.
>stay poor.
There is a difference between
>doing a project because you enjoy DIY
>doing a project because you cannot afford to outsource the work
>outsourcing the project because you can afford that and cant be bothered.
Just because you cant afford to hire some tradies to do your bidding, doesnt mean everyone else cant do same either.
>>

My country provides a bin just for that purpose which is collected by a garbage truck.
