What sporty cars should I test drive today? Some of the ones I've already tried:Likes:**330i ZHP + Z3 Coupe*** (sublime)Z3 roadster996 (heavenly chassis. Too bad about the lack of low-end torque. Also paddle shifters can kiss my ass. The manual is so much better)Early Boxster S.Crossfire SRT-6. (For an automatic it's a lot of fun)Audi A4 Meh:Z4 sDrive35iMisses:Twin turbo S5. [auto] (boy racer. Annoying exhaust. Turbo lag out the ass and nonlinear power curve)E39 530i (slow steering. body roll)Couldn't dig into:370Z (straight piped and the owner's son was in the car. If I can't hear the tires it would take some testing to find the limits)Vomit tier:Model S P85D
>>28910779* also, NA Miata was fun but underpowered.
First world problems: Living near the CT shoreline means every site gives me listings for Long Island. No, Carfax, Riverhead NY is not 33 miles away.
>>28910779The E39 530i doesn't have slow steering or body roll lol >>28910780Now that thing has slow steering and excessive body roll
>>28910821>Muh ecelebsYou can't drive
>>28910827>nooo he's an eceleb!!!>nooo he's just some guy!!!Neither cases makes a difference; he's driven and reviewed thousands more cars than (you) lolhttps://youtu.be/eTf2DfPS0cA
Don't buy a 20 year old shitbox bmw kek
>>28910821>>28910834
>>28910834>"""""sport""""" sedanthe commuter cope is real
>>28910840>>28910845Recommend a better car then kek
>>28912174How is being faster and more luxurious than your dad's faggy monster truck, "cope?"
>>28910779What are your thoughts on the Boxter? Like reliability and operating costs?I want a small 2 seater and have been looking at Miatas. Pricess on clean NA/NBs have risen to match early 00's Boxters. I imagine the Porche is going to be quiter inside.
>>28912228Never owned one so I don't know about reliability. They handle great but the torque curve isn't for me. I don't like to have to rev it sky high to have anything under my foot.Z3 is my happy place. Any of the i6's will do.
Škoda Rapid/Garde
>>28913026The Boxster was praised when new for its handling and road manners, but the 6 cylinder Z3s were always consistently faster off the line, and they had better mid-range torque too. What that meant was that, despite their disadvantage in handling, they could come out of corners easily due to their excellent torque band and make up lost time.
>>28910779I also just test drove a z3 coupe and it was surprisingly fun. Debating blowing 10k on a car I don't even fit in.What's your budget?
>>28912228>What are your thoughts on the BoxterNTA but anyone with a brain knows it is NARP (Not A Real Porsche).
v6 challenger super track packhold down the esp button for 6 seconds under 12 mph
>>28912228boxsters are fun if you can enjoy a slow car with well tuned suspension. but they are unreasonably expensive to maintain and fix up. the parts alone are like 300% marked up because porsche tax. the work isn't so bad if you can wrench, but if you can't wrench, you either can't afford it or you should just buy a 996reliability is good though, i haven't had any issues in the 20k miles i've owned mine, apart from stuff that was already broken from the 150k miles it had before i bought it. just do oil changes and IMS next clutch job. if you get a '00-'04 you won't have any engine issues.t. retarded kid in his early 20s who thought "porsches can't be that expensive"
>>28910779Z3 is fantastic, one of the only worthwhile BMWs. I'd also try out an F-Type R, less agile, but addictive engine sound and very smooth power delivery. An ND Miata is worth a shot too, not as much power as a lot of your list (obviously), but a lot of fun if you live somewhere to take advantage of it
>>28913153why aint' there available cheap Chinese parts off eBai? I mean all that shit is made there anyway. surely they can replicate a $1000 plastic Poorschit part for $50 and sell for $100we just need China to make cheap copies of all OEM parts and old OEM parts, we can continue to enjoy our old shitboxen forever and fuck greedy car cuntpanies
>>28913153Fun 986 hack: For a cheap close-ratio gearbox, get one from a 2WD B5 Passat or A4. It's the same casing, same bellhousing bolt pattern and everything. Makes it way quicker at speeds you'll actually drive it at, at the cost of some top speed and fuel economy.
>>28913087damn she's gorgeous
>>28913585they aren't made there, most parts say made in germany, czechia, or slovakia iircbecause they never got outsourced to china the chinese haven't been able to run the machines at night and copy the parts. i think i prefer it this way, i'll just tank the cost to support my fellow "whites">>28913592wait this is awesome, i'll look into this after i finish rebuilding the engine (i hit a rock and it punched a hole in the block)
>>28913867I think you may have to swap the output shafts between the two, but the 5-speed Boxsters used Audi gearboxes to drive costs down. Even 5-speed 987s used Audi boxes iirc.
>>28913030What a piece of shit, kek
>>28913037The Z3 is slept on.
>>28910779Try the GR86. It's a good time, since you have good taste and like manual you will have fun.
