Sometimes I regret not getting an SUV considering how roads in the rust belt are basically rock courses
But I also enjoy not having a large car
>>
>have a SUV for weekend trips and picking up big shit
>also have a small econobox that's easy to drive in the city that gets really good mpg
>?????
That wasn't hard.

but it was retarded. if the point of having a car is getting better mpgs than an suv, you would need to drive the car somewhere around 250,000 miles before you even broke even on fuel costs.

It depends on the SUV. Mine gets 12mpg city (on a good day) so it doesn't take long to start saving on gas by using a small 25+mpg city car in the city. If you don't care about MPG's there are still benefits to not using your SUV as a daily. One being not wearing down your expensive off road tires. The small size car can be nice but it can also not be fun when you're at headlight level in a sea of tall crossovers and trucks. Small wheels and chincy suspension components also don't hold up too well to bad roads.

>it doesn't take long to start saving on gas by using a small 25+mpg city car
it does when you have to buy a whole nother car in order to do it
>>

You can get a 25mpg econobox for less than the cost of a set of tires on something like that.

12 mpg? grim

I have known a few people that buying a high mpg car with finance was cheaper per month than DD there old car.

If the states actually cared about the environment the would make owning a second car EV free.

In my case was so much cheaper to lease an EV shitbox next to my old Mini and insure both than just having the Mini that the EV is almost free
Shit's weird sometimes

They would heavily regulate industrial pollution instead of consumer cars.

Yep. Thankfully I have a company van that I commute to work with. I also have a small econobox but prefer running errands in the 12mpg SUV.
