These things have had manual latches for years now. The ones without probably arent even on the road anymore
>>

Under the fucking speaker cover that you have to pry off first, provided you know about it. kek
>>
>>28911627

Do you understand the difference between a door being mangled from a severe crash and one not opening up because your pos EV had the battery punctured and is in the process of incinerating the occupants?
>>
>>28911892
do you understand how little it takes for the frame to distort.
no you dont obviously
>>
>>28911827
Are you implying Teslas can't last even a decade?
>>
>>28911892
40,000 people die in car crash each year.

You can't sue if you don't survive.

sad (not really)

considering I was a insurance claim adjuster for over decade I can tell you this isn't "a thing" in none traumatic crashes

you know what is a thing though? an EV running over a piece of metal at 40 mph and incinerating the occupants because of it

Imagine being such a clueless pleb that you have to 'open your doors' after a crash?

some have an 12 volt Auxiliary Battery, that (in theory) should maintain power to the central locking system.

That's the most baffling and retarded part

In all the big cases of Teslas getting their main battery punctured in minor accidents the doors die and occupants get incinerated instantly
>>
>>28912320
More People die in ICE crashes than EVS because gasoline is flammable too ?
>>

Found the retard
>>

It's crazy how the point is going right over your head. Those gas cars have doors that can open if you're conscious so you can atleast get out before the fire spreads. EVs the door doesn't open so you're fucked if there is a fire. You gotta be a teenager cause holy shit

None of this means anything with the degree on danger in ICE vs EV

An ICE car isnt going to catch fire if a stick punctures its gas tank at 40 mph

Teslas have already killed people like that
>>
If i can afford an EV on a living wage, than I'll live with the fatalities.
>>
>>
>>28911892
im with you on this one, on vw if you press the locking fob twice or something and its impossible to get out of the car. its a thing they made so that one couldnt bust a window and open a door. but well now your kid burns alive in your car.

Maybe /o/ is full of professional wrenchies who are trying to protect their jobs. They should just get into performance fields, where gas might have a longer life. The fud is no longer gonna work for the larger market.
>>
>>28912738
only 2 more weeks until we see EVs everywhere
>>
>>28912740
Well, I wouldn't say that. But it's inevitable that new V8s are going the way of the Dodo. You guys better take care of what's left. And then other engines will eventually follow.
Neither governments or companies are going to bother juggling wildly diverging markets to this extent. If Asians and Euros end up going full EV (and they're on track to do so), then Americans will have to follow. It isn't going to be like when Ford doesn't have a strong truck market or some lack of an individual model in these places. This is way more costly than a model or two. They're not going to have separate design, separate research, separate marketing, and separate sales for entirely different vehicle paradigms. Or they're not going to do that forever at least.

Had one of these in my car for a while now

>>

that initial white smoke is lethal but death is delayed by some minutes depending on how much you huffed

>EVs the door doesn't open
>>28912738

ICE cars have 12v lead batteries for airbag and door locks
EVs have 12v lead batteries for airbag and door locks
Nu EVs have electric door latches
Nu ICE cars have electric door latches
>>
>>28913206
It's not the electric drive, but the electric door locks that are a problem.
Especially as their only advantage is to look "cool" and be a tiny bit more aerodynamic (though you could at least have direct, mechanic inner door latches, then).
>>
>>28913220
thats not a feature exclusive to electric cars. lots of new designs from 2025 onwards have them.
>but the electric door locks that are a problem.
i got to be honest, i have never seen a non chink car video straight from mainland where this is a problem.
Audi put them on 3 new makes (all ice btw) last year and they get highest ratings in independent crash tests, bmw is following this year. its all chink shit and fud from you agenda niggers based on chink shit unfit to be sold in our markets
>>
>>28913237
I just don't like introducing new useless actuators in cars that serve no real purpose - especially in safety-related functions.
I know it's not an EV problem, but a nucar problem.
The same bullshit, though with fewer safety implications are rear cameras sviveling out when the car is in reverse.
>>
>>28911582
I literally have to be warned as a first responder that if I breathe lithium fire fumes my career is over at the least and I'll die a horrible lung burning death at worst. These things are fucking dangerous. Our worst fear is an EV crash and we have a whole book of special precautions when we have to go to one. Might as well make nuclear powered cars ffs.
