In hindsight, was it a missed opportunity?
>>28917682Ever since our city switched over to CNG for it's buses I'm constantly seeing them breaking down and being towed back to the depot. That used to be rare when they were all diesel. My guess is it's the CNG system fucking them over. Also using extremely high pressure flammable gases in roadgoing vehicles is just a bad idea on so many levels.
>>28917749My guess is converting diesel engines to run on natural gas is a bad idea. Start with an actual gasoline engine at least
>>28917767I don't think the engines are the issue. A gas engine that's based off of a high compression commercial diesel engine is going to be extremely robust running as a 10:1 gas engine. Controlling 6 spark plugs shouldn't be an issue either unless they fucked up the electronics.
>>28917749>>28917767>>28917775A lot of the CNG conversions being pushed are fucking dogshit. They look like the kind of trash you'd find on alibaba, combined with plumbing fixtures and 3D printed bullshit.Especially when you get to a municipal/government level, they are meant to separate suckers from grant/tax money, not actually work.
