It wasn't totally deliberate but a number of my vacations in recent years have taken on an automotive component. Usually duel purpose.

Colorado mountian vacation and Pikes Peak hill climb.

Trip to Salt Lake city with a side quest to Boneville Salt flats


Ron Fellows Corvette School plus tradional las vegas vacation stuff.

Also have an annual big friends trip to RA vintage weekend. A few of my pals race so its kind of a pit crew vacation.

Planning one this fall but im not sure how to make it work. Going to a football game in Seattle and have plans to do a trip down the pacific highway. I really want my car for that portion, but the logistics are daunting so might get stuck with a rental. I also explored shipping my car so it meets us when we land but that is kind of crazy. If I found a service that could handle it and didn't come off sketchy as fuck I would consider it, but im learning a non-sketchy car shipper might not exist.

So its not like I couldn't drive it there. Its just a time issue. The scenic drive though the PNW and Cali sounds nice, but a week long vacation with 6 full days driving does not sound relaxing. And I dont love the mileage desu, but I could live with it.

there's a guy in italy that owns miataland, a resort that has a whole bunch of miatas (iirc like 40 cars), you can drive one in the surrounding country side which looks absolutely gorgeous
