I own a 89 volvo 744GL and am needing help finding this connection housing so i can replace my old fuel relay one with it. Im fairly sure i've fixed the issue that caused the live wire to fuckin melt the housing, but ill still take it to a mechanic to check my wiring work and fix any fuckups. housing looks like it would be common and it comes out of the greater fuse panel so I figure they made replacements for em'. picrel
>>28920008Theres nothing wrong with that housing. If you think there are issues you can replace the terminals. The square hole above the blade connectors is so you can shove a tool in there and unlock the blade terminal to pull it out of the block and change it.
>>28920113>there's nothing wrong with that housing ofc not thats a reference pic i took off of an ebay listing for a whole relay panel. My live wire has melted through the bottom left part on mine. I would have a photo but my phone is kil and I gotta wait for the replacement screen to get here
>>28920008>Im fairly sure i've fixed the issue that caused the live wire to fuckin melt the housingIt appears that it was a common problem:>The most common "harness" failure at the fuel relay isn't the wires themselves, but melted plastic in the relay socket caused by heat. If your socket is charred, it’s usually because the relay pins were loose, creating resistance. When pulling a harness from a donor car, check the underside of the central electrical unit for any signs of browning or brittle insulation. You can find Donor harnesses from a junkyard, from any of the following models:Volvo 740: All models from 1985–1992 (GL, GLE, Turbo).Volvo 940: All models from 1991–1995 (essentially the evolution of the 740 chassis).Volvo 760: Models with the 4-cylinder engine from 1984–1990.Volvo 780: 4-cylinder (Bertone) models from 1987–1991.

(that melted the connector)If you are repairing the harness, ensure the donor matches these pin assignments, which were standard for the LH-Jetronic 2.4 fuel injection system found in your '89 GL:Pin Number Wire Color (Typical) Function30 Red Constant 12V Power (from battery/fuse)87/1 Red/Yellow Power to Fuel Injectors & ECU87/2 Yellow/Red Power to Main & In-tank Fuel Pumps85 Blue/White Ignition Switch Signal86 Yellow/Black Ground Trigger from ECU (to activate relay)86/2 Black Standard Ground
