And yet people still didn't buy it
>>28920576BMW/Mini corporate design is strong with this one. Dash panels look same as an R53 mini cooper S (which was also $20k). I wonder if they pop off the same way. Is it real wood veneer or synthetic?
>>28920576whats wrong with circles?
I like the interior design from the 70s and 80s more
Reminds me of my mom's Jaguar XJ8 in the 90s and early 00's. Considering its a Rover probably similar build quality. Great at first (under warranty) but horrific once it starts aging.
>>28920576legitimately looks like shit
>>28920667But you haven't even seen the luxury styling on the outside yet.
>>28920576>FordedThats why
>>28920593>Is it real wood veneer or synthetic? It's real wood
>>28920576So nice BMW who bought Rover killed it ASAP. They never wanted it to exist at all.
>>28920576Wasn't this a Volvo?
>>28920676Launched at the same time as S-Type, was arguably better.
>>28920833>Launched at the same time as S-Type, was arguably better.Keep telling yourself that, buddy.S-Type was RWD only and available with a 400 BHP 4.2 Supercharged V8. Rover 75 was FWD only and the largest engine was a 2.5 V6 with 180 BHP.
>>28920920Top Trump reading underage detected. Some of us don't just run straight line numbers.Do you have a start line with a christmas tree and a stop line a hundred yards before the corner store?Where do you put your cupholders in your drag car?You could get a V8 rwd Rover 75 btw.
>>28920576My parents had a Rover back then
>>28920922>Some of us don't just run straight line numbers.Even on a track an S-Type R would smoke a Rover 75. Even a base V6 S-Type would still smoke a Rover 75.>Where do you put your cupholders in your drag car?In the centre console, where else do you think? Ironically there are no cupholders in OP's picture.>You could get a V8 rwd Rover 75 btwYeah, with a 4.Slow Ford V8 and a 4 Speed Automatic, with just over half the power of the Jaguar (256 BHP compared to 400 BHP)
>>28920817>Wasn't this a Volvo?Nope, it's kind of a FWD mix of an E39 and E46
>>28920576They were really badly built and most came with the infamous K-series engine. The diesel cars used a BMW engine that was better but they were all driven into the ground. I'm sure they would have been comfy for the first six months but Rover interiors tended to just fall apart pretty quickly. There was also competition in the "big, unreliable, comfy" car segment from Citreon, which was somehow better built, or if you just wanted a large saloon that wasn't German you could have bought a Volvo or Saab.
>>28920576If we go by gold price,20k in the year 2000 is enough to buy 75 ounces of gold.75 ounces of gold in 2026 is worth over 300k.Thats a 300k car.
