So this stuff just seems to happen out of nowhere
I heard that the speed limits on highways were determined by the oldest boomers and their parents used as guinea pigs to see at what speeds they started to get uncomfortable

Our speed limits should be increased to 100mph in non residential areas with special provisions for vehicles that have certain specs to go ANY speed when the road is a straight line and traffic conditions are light to where you are not passing anything besides 18 wheelers on long hauls

lane splitting should be legal in all 56 states and territories along with free motorcycle parking and they can park in the yellow of parking lots because a fireman can knock it over if he needs to
any vehicle should be made road legal as long as it does not damage or obstruct
>>

>lane slitting
What app even is that? tiktok?
>>
>but what about the bad drivers who go under the speed limit in the fast lane?
>and the retards who drive parralell to other vehicles so no one can pass?

were just gonna kill em
it will be legal to shoot anyone who obstructs traffic through negligance, stupidity, or protest
>>
>>28920910
the space between cars is sometimes refered to as the slit, sniz, or hole

see how he can go 150 pretty much worry free of other vehicle collisions?

Speed limits were only made during the 70s oil crisis as a means to conserve national fuel reserves when supply was fucked.

The US department of transportation themselves said "speed limits do not work"
You can look it up yourself.
>>
>>28920912
kek good one
>>
>>28920916
No, I don't care what some KHV faggot does on his suicide mobile.
>>

I did and couldn't find anything.
>>
>Drive sport compact
These speed limits are insane. Why do we need a speed limit at all? 90? 160mph? It's totally fine, man.
>Drive truck (say, Silverado 2500)
Oh, I see, it all makes sense now. I don't want the other people around me in their gigantic tanks driving faster.

The next gen really is illiterate wow.

It's like you need to be spoon fed due to a lack of executive function. Here have a video champ.

Damn, that's some next level trolling anon.
Make something up, then send a YouTube link with some woman in a click bait thumbnail.
8/10 excellent effort

speed limits/fines should be categorised based on vehicle class.

a 200kg bike causes far less destruction than a 2.5 TONNE truck so why should a bike have to pay the same monetary fine than a truck. or stick to the same speed limit.

bikers also have self-preservation as a major motivator to prevent a collision. this is something that a SUV or truck driver doesn't have because they are in a steel cage surrounded by airbags.
>>
>>28920917
>Speed limits were only made during the 70s oil crisis as a means to conserve national fuel reserves when supply was fucked.
that's what (((they))) want you to think but speed limits are really just a means of extorting money out of the public.
>>
>>28921227
That assumes all accidents involve multiple vehicles. What about single vehicle accidents? If you're hitting a tree, or a deer, or going into a ditch the person(s) involved then would be fucked on a bike but way safer in a truck.
>>
>>28921126
theres a bunch of studies that basically boil down to "drivers will drive at whatever speed they feel safe" or maybe more charitably "traffic calming devices like bumps/curves/etc are more effective at limiting average speed in an area than signage alone"
>>
>>28920917
>Speed limits were only made during the 70s oil crisis
wrong dumbass. they predated it but were dropped to 55 and have since been reverted, often higher.

It'd be better to just avoid the accident entirely in a lightweight that you drive hard almost daily so you can trust it. If you don't drive hard often, it's dangerous to encounter a dangerous split-second decision. If you drive hard often long enough, you can avoid all sorts of shit.
For example, RWD lightweight into a corner and it starts understeering because you came in too hot at a bad angle? Simply slam the clutch, WOT, and dump the clutch 1-3x very fast to upset the rear, suddenly the car rotates and you can avoid the tree.
What I'm saying is, you learn things from experience. Maybe fucking around past the traction limit is a good thing after all.

I appreciate your concern, but shouldn't my personal health and safety be up to me and not the State Government?
>>
>>28921518
Because the State Government has to pay someone to clean up your viscera and scrap metal off the side of the road.
>>
>>28921526
Assuming I'm incompetent enough to actually crash my bike. But I have that thing called "self preservation" that I mentioned here >>28920917, so I'm far less likely to crash.

I've also been "speeding" for over 35 years and haven't crashed so what makes you think that I'm going to start now?

Plus, this >>28921481
>you learn things from experience
So maybe it would be a good idea for more experienced road users to be able to qualify for some kind of 'advanced' licence that allows for a speed tolerance. Similar to a police licence. But you must have held a full licence before you can qualify for an 'advanced' licence. You'd also have to have an [A] plate on your vehicle like a [P] plate.
>>
>>28921537
>akshually I'm an infallible driver, and if everyone else was a god driver too then problem fixed
Ah right, it's so easy.
>>
>>28921543
It's not always about me, and you're an idiot because that's not what I'm saying at all.

Why are you on /o/ if you hate the idea of an 'advanced' licence that gives you a speed tolerance. Do you like getting fined and penalised for doing nothing wrong?
>>
>>28921537
>I've also been "speeding" for over 35 years and haven't crashed so what makes you think that I'm going to start now?
fun fact: literally everyone who has ever lived never crashed before their first crash
>>
>>28921557
You say that like it's inevitable. Sounds like you're paranoid (schizo).

>the space between cars is sometimes refered to as the slit, sniz, or hole
I see they've adopted the terms that they'll become when they blast through at 85 in a school zone.
>>
>>28921526
My taxes already pay people to clean the road
>>
>>28921557
Some people never crash their cars
>>
>>28921227
>bikers also have self-preservation as a major motivator
I would argue they have the polar opposite of self preservation given how flat out reckless they tend to drive no matter if it's an empty road at 11pm or bumper to bumper traffic at 3pm.

Dumb cager opinions don't matter. You don't 'drive' a bike. You RIDE it.

you just described every BMW driver
>>
>>28922417
Well that's a coincidence because the opinions of boxers mean nothing to me as well

>>28922420
Drivers *tend* to be more selective on where and when they break the law since they can't physically fit in spaces bikes can and also can't just hit 185 in 6 seconds and be gone when a cop lights them up
