I absolutely hated the round car era from circa 2005 - circa 2024.
Almost every new version of an old car released since then - such as the Honda Passport, Subaru Outback, Toyota 4Runner, Ford Bronco, Kia Telluride etc. etc. etc. is far more boxier than its predecessor.

The perfect car shape to me is a 2000-2020 Aston Martin, Jag f-type or Maserati Granturismo. This truck and box shift has been the worst thing that's ever happened in my eyes and the sooner we can get return to proper cars that look like they slip through the air rather than beat it into submission the better.

Are you kidding me? Cars look like rolling monstrosities today, because curvy or boxy wasn't the problem, it was the FUCKING SIZE AND PROPORTIONS. I saw a new Forester and that pos looks ATROCIOUS. Same for ANY new ""SUV"" or ""TRUCK"". Sedans have been the same gaudy plastic eggs since 2015, nothing's changed there. There is not a single brand that makes an objectively good looking car today, NOT ONE. (obviously in the sub arm-and-a-leg price point or the mega ultra hyper limited production stuff)

Not really, because aside from two or three specific vehicles like the Wrangler and Bronco they are all LARP vehicles. Transverse-engined Kia, Toyota, Honda CUVs and so on are all now sold with LARP packages where you get the black wheels, fake silver-plastic skid plates and "rugged" black cladding that not even serious 4x4s 20 years ago would've had. Were this the '90s, all these popular cuckovers would've at least been RWD/4x4 and body on frame (and boxy). That is to say I don't find the styling terrible per se, but now more than ever normies seem to treat these car-based crossovers like they're straight up trucks.

If "boxier shaped cars" meant Camaros shaped like 3rd gens, Ford sedans shaped like an old LTD, Fleetwood/Eldorado shaped Cadillacs, R129-shaped Mercedes SLs and so on then absolutely, it'd be kino.

The liftback-ification of sedans is something I particularly hate. Sedans are losing the traditional three-box design and all turning into jellybean shit, counter to OPs point (which I believe only applies to cuckovers/SUVs)

With few exceptions, the era between 1990s and 2020 is a bulbous, egg shaped dystopian dark age. Boxy is always an instant classic
