Why the hell didn't Stellantis just facelift the Challenger a third time before fully committing to EV?Seeing the new challengers knowing it's an EV just doesn't hit the same.
Stellantis was paying a shit ton of money in government-imposed penalties because of their failure to update their V8's to be more fuel efficient, and were about to start paying even more by the start of 2026. If they knew Trump was going to win and repeal CAFE standards, they surely wouldn't have done it and just facelifted the Challenger/Charger as you suggested.
>>28922350Because Carlos Tavares is a tree-hugging hippie retard that never had a clue about what 'Murikans want and only focused on the Euro market.
>>28922375That's the excuse they would give. The truth is that the CEO at the time Carlos Tavares legitimately and self admittedly doesn't understand why Americans like American cars and just tried to commit to European emission standards. He once said that alfa romeo was the crown jewel in stellantis
>>28922350I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. They had a golden opportunity and they fucked it up. They somehow made the gas powered car heavier than a fully loaded Redeye widebody when all they had to do was use the Guilia platform. Could’ve had a much much lighter and competent chassis that would’ve brought the car into the modern era without even touching power outputs. A stock 392 on a tire could’ve been low 11 to high 10 second car off the showroom floor. They could’ve gone the gen 3 coyote route and given the non Hellcat Hemis port and direct injection with a compression boost to clean up emissions and increase economy. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
>>28922523>They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. So true.
>>28922350jesus that one in the middle is big, car sizes in america are getting out of hand truly
It isn't an EV they're bringing out a v8 next year in addition to the i6
>>28922350Because stellantis is a surrenderpoor country company. The 1st thing they did after buying Dodge was kill off SRT. It told you everything you needed to know about them.
>>28922428Alfa Romeo absolutely is the jewel of stellantisIt couldve been maseratti if not for last idk 40 years ?Between jeep, ram, chrysler, dodge, peugot, citroen, fiat and abarth and Lancia Its the alfa romeo that has most history, most race wins and most interresting cars followed closely by lanciaAmericans just dont get it,they lack love for beautiful things (due to jews, racemixing and protestantism)Still stellantis should work like ford did in 1950s,you have european and american teams doing their own thing
>>28922523>They snatched defeat from the jaws of victoryseems to be a trend these days, competence is at an all time low
>>28922350because it was already a 20 year old platform with roots in a late 80s renault
>>28922350I dont understand why you guys have such a problem with EV challengers. It's faster, eco friendly which is a huge plus these days, and it had speakers outside of the car that make v8 sounds. Literally 0 downsides. I love my EV challanger. It's sounds fricking amazing too
>>28923031>Americans just dont get it,they lack love for beautiful things (due to jews, racemixing and protestantism)Alfa Romeo actually did reasonably well until about 2023, especially considering how little support they had access to
>>28923031>Uhmm like 80 years ago alfa was relevant Awesome. It's not anymore and hasn't been for a long time. The other Stellantis massively outsold alfa. Alfa sold 73k cars GLOBALLY in 2025, 60k of which were the fucking Junior compact SUV.
>>28923276>that grille>those wheelsjesus christ what is wrong with italians
>>28923302The junior is a Tavares special, designed by a Spaniard not an ItalianLike how you can pinpoint when pininfarina started hiring jeets instead of Italians
