lmao. That power is hardly impressive when the turbo SRT4 engines were making that 20+ years ago.

it's the flavour of the month. you'll notice the shitposters will converge on a certain specific topic for a bit, then move on to something else.
give this na vs turbo thing a bit of time and it'll move on to something else.

zero chance they ever sell that in a street car

This engine uses 87 octane and you only need an oil change when the indicator lights (comes equip with an oil change indicator).

How many SRT-4s are still on the road compared to 20 years ago?

Riiight.

>>28922540
Not many but a lot of that has to do with their owners. Looking at what a shitshow the i6 Hurricane is I'm willing to bet zero of any Hurricane engine will be around in even 10 years.

>>28922531
maybe not from the factory, but they said they are going to overbuilt the engine to make it a tuners dream

you have to remember there were only 25k SRT-4 neons ever made across all model years, and were exclusively targeted at the type of person who would wrap it around a telephone pole.

Unlike your hypothetical engine, this one is already in production with a 100km warranty.

N/A HP pet liter is the only pissing contest worth having. Any moron can stuff boost through a boat anchor and make a gorillon HP.

That's it? Try 208hp/l from the world's most powerful production 4 cylinder engine.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it is a brand new engine. First gen anything is going to have problems. Thats not an excuse for it, but I also don't think there are enough of them out in the wild to make a conclusive "heres whats wrong with it from the factory". I also don't think you can make that same conclusion like their hemi ticking issue that only comes up at 75k miles.

>>28922477
>>28922493
high turbo pressure small displacement engines aren't exactly known for long term reliability. Thats mostly because your average car user (not necessarily owner) won't keep to the nearly racecar levels of maintenance and noticing issues before they become catastrophic problems. Not racing home after work and shutting the car off hot. Not hopping in and rushing off to wherever. Strictly changing the oil every 5000 miles with full synthetic. Not loading up the car with 1000lbs of people and their shit flooring it on an on ramp before heading up a mountain road. on and on.
Further evidence is the race car guys. Even building it with some of the strongest parts it won't last 50k miles, but granted thats hard abuse on an engine. Regardless, even if you took a 2.0L engine and add 35psi of boost to daily drive it, it just isn't going to break 100k miles.

Nobody that matters knows what kilometer means. 100k miles was expected in the 19 hundreds. Well, except from euro cars they always have failed within 50k.
