Every job to do with shit like this wants like 10 years experience so how do you become a tonka driver?
>>
Drive a Tonka for 10 years.
>>
You start as the sign holder or manual shovel guy for a while. Then once you do that long enough they might let you run around in a bobcat or a backhoe. If you don't fuck that up they'll let you move to bigger machines. It's not the same at every company. The mostly don't want a retard at the sticks.

That's stupid. It should be immediate job training doing the actual things instead as the litmus test, not menial nothingness like a trope out of a kids karate movie.
>>

That's how blue collar works goes. You have to prove your worth.

This anon is correct. You start as a labourer for a company that uses big machines and if you are a good worker eventually they will train you for other stuff.
I started as a labourer, ended up in skid steer, then tele handler, then ewp, then running the crushing plant, then loader

If you don't have the patience and focus to stand there holding a sign you will kill someone when you operate a 20 tonne machine
>>
>>28922796
Dude what's it like in the cab of those huge conveyor belt rock crushers? Literal star wars looking shit
>>
>>28922803
Manual shovel guy makes more sense than holding a fucking sign.
>>
>>28922804
Its like playing a video game for a job, our crushing plant runs 350-400 metric tonnes per hour
>>
>>28922796
Thats a nice grade, I unironically like grading with loaders
>>
Would a decade of experience running and maintaining tractors (manual, front bucket, forks, bush hog, PTO shit) on a farm improve odds?
>>
>>28922846
Yes
>>28922793
You can get a certification through a formal training school and jump right into a job but you will probably suck at first
t. Did that
>>
>>28922867
Oh well that makes up for it then I think.
>>
This counts as an /HMO/
>>
>>28922846
Yes, tractor operators make the best loader operators
>>
>>28922843
Doing bulldozer work in a loader is satisfying if you do it well which is hard to do
>>
>>28922793
Consider that most dudes who rock up for these jobs dropped out of school and smoke too much weed to join the army. You just gotta prove you're not an alcoholic mongoloid like the usual recruits. Nuthin personnel.
>>
>>28922785
You gotta be a 'newcomer' with no real interest in doing it, and really careless in how you do it. No exceptions
