I can pick between a Suzuki Ignis 2005 or an Impreza RX 2008, both seem to be in working condition and roughly £1000.
That Impreza is a better driver's car (more power, wishbones rear). I had a USDM 2.5L one until last year.I do not know enough about the NA 2.0L to say if it's reliable but I've heard they're stronger than the 2.5 due to thicker cylinder walls.I don't know how hard parts are to get for these where you live.I'm assuming the Subaru will have much higher insurance.I really like that Impreza but the Suzuki will probably cost less to keep, maybe.

The only thing which puts me off the Impreza is the shape. The Ignis' box just looks way comfier to sit in.
