Fuck OEMs putting tiny side walls on tires. One pothole and it killed my tire.I ordered taller tires today.
dont care.didnt ask.
Looks like 45 profile tires
5% taller tires won't save you lol
>>28923566Unfortunately it came with a 40 aspect ratio I ordered a 45.>>28923571Extra 25mm of sidewall makes a pretty big difference.
>>28923488>drives like a nig>doesn't look where she's going>hits a pothole at speedyou get what you deservenext time watch the road
>>28923585>drives like a nig How could you possibly come to that conclusion? The stock tires are junk and chunk out even when new.So you can't judge the driving by that >doesn't look where she's going Pitch black at night and hit a pot hole on a crest of a hill.Shit happens anon.I can't magically see a black pothole at night on a crest.
>>28923579>25mmso you got 1" smaller wheels?
>>28923593Correction, I ordered tires that are 1in taller in diameter. The factory 17s on these cars don't fit the OEM upgraded brake package.Otherwise I would have done that In my experience, adding 25mm of tire height makes a big difference in ride quality.
>>28923579>>28923605I love dumb sluts like you.A tire with a 25mm larger diameter, means you only have 12.5mm extra sidewall between the wheel and the road.
>>28923585>>28923628>she>slutBot thread. The data breach literally showed is that more than 50% of this site is bot posts.
>>28923628Yes anon, we know diameter vs radius.I had a 295/35r18 on my race car.Switched to a 295/30r18 of the same tire.BIG change in ride. That extra 1/2in of side wall really makes a difference.I was able to run less camber and more caster, so the shorter tire was worth it. -3.2 camber vs -3.8.Improves braking performance by a good bit
>>28923488michelin or whatever plz make pilot sport 5/6/7/etc. in >65 profile for 13-15 inch wheels kthxbye
>>28923755Only poor fags use small wheels.Poor fags have no money for Michelin Tires.Simple as
>>28923785i do but they don't make them for small wheels ;-;
>>28923665proof? every time someone says something about the hack, it was made up bullshit. every single time so far.
This is why you buy a fuckin base model. I -really- don't understand wheel upsizing when it just makes the wheels easier to damage, it's heavier, it makes the ride shittier, and each inch basically increases a set of economy tires price by $150. You want a stupid stiff ride where your ass feels every bump just run your tires +10psi.Nobody needs bigger than 17in wheels
>>28923488Ricer tax, imagine trading grip and ride quality for bent wheels and blown out tires kek
>>28923488sometimes I don't bother to slow down for the speedbumps in the parking lot
>>28923807There wasn't any BOT data that I saw.The post showing almost all /pol/ IPs were from Israel was real though. Not surprising since there are entire white papers written about how to shut it down long-term.It involves basically just flooding a board with shit until all real users leave.>>28923825That makes no sense.Base models have smaller wheels.Top trims have the larger diameter wheels >>28923833>trading grip It's the opposite Senpai
>>28923866that's what he's saying - buy the trim with smaller wheels because it'll have taller tyres to retain the same diameter
OP bought run flats and now he suffers for it
>>28923848last night i was following my buddy back to his house and i just rolled right over the big long speed bumps without hitting the brakes, he told me in his mirrora my car was bouncing like in those old movie car chases but for me i didn't feel too much lol. love it.
>>28923866>It's the opposite SenpaiThat's what you think little ricer, wrenchlet.
>>28923585what if road is 100% potholes, like, you know, in most places in america
>>28924059>what if road is 100% potholes, like, you know, in most places in americaThat's actually a legitimate question and a fairly reasonable one at that. Unfortunately the answer is inflammatory to many.>Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If you know your road system is prone to potholing then buying a vehicle that cannot handle them is ill-advised. If you insist on taking a vehicle out in unfavorable conditions then extra vigilance must be taken.
>>28923579I wanted orange.It gave me lemon-lime.
Doesn't extra sidewall in the same wheel cause your tire to rub when turning?
>>28924005No, anon Shorter profile tires typically deliver more dry grip. That's why 99% of race tires are a 30 series or close to it.>>28924146It can rub on some cars. With my particular car it's fine.
>>28923488OP here.Got my taller tires installed.Shit rides way nicer now.Tires are a tad louder, but once the mold release is worn off; it should quiet down.
>>28924302Shorter tires become incredibly more difficult to make properly stiff >>28923488Is nobody going to talk about how OP has obviously visibly thrashed these and what that means for how the whole tire is degraded
my wife absolutely butchers sidewalls i truly dont know how she does it big craters taken out of the side. her next vehicle gonna have big ass tires.
>>28924320Not that anon, but nah dawg.Shorter side wall means less camber.Less tire pressure And better steering feel.Street tires need not apply
>>28924320>visibly thrashed Most all season tires do that if any hard turns are taken. They make the tread wear high by adding too much carbon black into the rubber. So you get a hard compound but one that is brittle.
>>28923848>>28923884Based shitmobile
>>28923884I can only imagine what you can fit in the trunk of that thing, UNF
>>28924436I run UHP A/Ss for winter, have routinely put .7g+ turns on them and have never ripped a tread.OPs tires are physically abused as in, their sidewall and carcass strength is degraded.>>28924432A shorter sidewall has to be thicker to be as strong. Think about it there's the same load being put on less material.
>>28924703>A shorter sidewall has to be thicker to be as strong. Think about it there's the same load being put on less material. That's not how that works.
>>28924457body condition is meh. so i'm just gonna fucken send it and drive it till the wheels fall off, then put the wheels on and keep driving it till either someone offers me a stupid amount of cash for it, or the rust consumes it.>>28924606i was able to lie completely flat in it and i'm 5'9". Could get a blanket and sleep in it if it weren't for the fact that you can't open the lid from the inside.
>>28924703Shorter sidewalls are stiffer, their lack of elasticity is why they break during a pothole bump
>>28924302You have never seen a race car in your life, ricer
