Even among the left many don't want more regulations on cars.There are Karens on both sides.I think there are better things to focus on than tunnel-vision the idea that "cars = all pollution." Catalytic converters, EFI, and unleaded fuel are good enough. Maybe we should demand, with our dollars, smaller cars so bigger engines can survive? I don't like the regulations but Iwe could get better emissions by making vehicles lighter and gearing them better rather than give up V8s.

If you're a wealthy guy that drives a luxury car, why would you not want a quieter, smoother, more technologically advanced vehicle that also allows you to avoid gas stations where you are likely to get mugged? It makes perfect sense for some people and is the clearly superior choice. That being said, what I hate is how it is the consumers and citizens of the western world, and particularly North America that seemed to get fucked over the most. Strict emissions regulations make vehicles worse. Full stop. They are slower, less reliable, and ironically less fuel efficient than vehicles without complex emissions systems choking out the engine. In the USA you have to drive, it's not a choice or a luxury yet people act like it is for some reason. And because cars eventually wear down over time, this means that people are forced to buy more expensive, less reliable vehicles. I know globohomo wants us all to drive electric, but that's just not feasible. If you live in an apartment in the hood, where the fuck are you going to charge your car? If you sit in a lot for 30 minutes to charge you will get robbed in many of these areas. Electric cars simply don't work for a lot of people, especially people that don't have as much money, yet for some reason, it is the left that wants to push these regulations down our throat, the same people that supposedly represent the economically disadvantaged. There are a couple of solutions to the environmental issue: firstly, on the home front, there needs to be alternatives to driving. Simple as. Public transit needs to get better, and city planning needs to be such that people can walk or bike where they need to go. This means higher standards for physicality and health amongst citizens (ie more fat shaming) and stricter law enforcement to get crackheads off of trains. (1/2)
