are these any good?
I can get one for 25k with about 28000 miles on it
>>
they really have a dct in that shitbox? that's neat
99 times out of 100 someone buying this is a sticklet that can't drive a real transmission but for that 1 guy that just wants to rip the fuck around banging out instant gear changes I hope you enjoy your ~50k miles left in that motor

I like the flame red stripe painted on the bottom. Foreshadowing.

No they are not good, sorry. Honest opinion

Yes but I think an elantra n would be a safer bet, if a little more expensive. Just save up for a few more months if you can wait

I mean Hyundais are god tier in terms of reliability these days so it should be a safe bet

Be aware their DCTs have crazy failure rates and have for over a decade.
There's even a recall on this specific one where their "response" is to just update the clutch learning software. https://autoservice.hyundaiusa.com/Campaign236/MicroSiteTemplate/MicroSiteTemplateVINValidate/4214
They've had 2 class action lawsuits on the DCTs one in 2016, and a newer one is investigating '21-22 models.
The problems have been so bad that in for '26 they're switching to standard slushboxes only.
Most are fine, it's probably fine but Hyundai Kia DCTs fail at extremely high rates compared to normal and they're really expensive to replace and they usually start failing just before 100k.

People have said this for 20 years and it has never been true.

I looked at other sites about this car and the exact same issues mentioned here about it are talked about everywhere else
I'll look into getting something else
