Its diesel electric?

I see it has the illuminated logos and built in retina burner LEDs. Shit like this got you called a ricer back in the day. Now the OEMs are doing it to attract the average subhuman buyer. This is some fall of rome shit.

>The Nissan Terrano (called the X-Terra or Terra in certain markets) will feature a ladder frame with rear or 4 wheel drive and be offered initially with a 3.8 liter VQ gasoline V6 engine and a 3.0 liter VQ gasoline V6 plug in hybrid system. Four cylinder gasoline and diesel engines will become availible in certain markets after launch including a diesel electric in line hybrid powertrain and an EREV gasoline electric powertrain.

>>28923955
It seems like they plan to make a train style diesel electric system for future models and a Scout Harvester style system.

We have seen the PHEV version first because it premiered in China and they are only getting electrified versions. The US version is getting a simple V6 shared with the next generation Frontier and expected to look like this following the North American Rogue and Kicks facia patterns.

Where i live, hybrids are twice as expensive for vehicle registration every year than normal vehicles.
Also insurance costs more, because they're
>>
>>28924043
*because they're more likely to be totaled out since insurance companies and repair shops don't want to deal with batteries
>>

I want the EREV. Why is Nissan the only non-chink company pushing EREVs? These would be huge here in Canada with the cold range anxiety

>PHEV
Pass.
Call up the Russians (via the Italians) again, and let them sell their ~$25k body on frame, port-injected V6 4x4 SUV and pickup here. It was the only "new" car I was actually looking forward to until muh war killed it off.

>train style diesel electric system
This could actually be competitive now. Nissan's already selling new series hybrids in yurop. They call the system "e-POWER".
They can supposedly match regular cars in cruising efficiency. Guess power electronics have gotten so good that the conversion losses aren't much worse than in a mechanical transmission.

Since all the power's passing through the HV electrics anyway, I suppose the difference between a "full hybrid" and a plug-in hybrid is the size of the battery, and whether it can be charged from the outside.
>>
Why do they always choose this ugly boxy led styling? I was excited to hear about the new Xterra until I saw how ugly it was.

Which of these Indian AI generated models is the real appearance of the car?
>>
>>28924279
it's not... very good. you know that old car funk, the kind of constant back and forth to keep it running, complete with "what the fuck were they thinking 50 years ago?" and "dear god this part is entirely rust"? it's that, but from brand new. like, you know that people say that about the niva, niva is a modern car in comparison (despite being from the 70s and based on a car from the 60s). patriot can and will break in cruel and unusual ways on every occasion. super capable when it works, a stupid piece of shit.
another fun quirk is that in a crash, the body flies off the frame, and since the steering wheel is attached to the frame and not to the body, it either impales your face or pins your dick to the seat.

>a train style diesel electric system for future models
FINALLY.
That may actually make history.
The first SERIAL, Diesel-Electic automobile.
Efficient, constant speed diesel
Powerful electric motors, with max torque at 0 rpm

They help on the aesthetics though...

Plug in hybrids only exist to allow large engine cars to skirt around European regulations

They are literally the worst of both an EV and an ICE vehicle.

50 miles on a charge and then just the biggest piece of shit inefficient car ever with all the repairs and complexity of both an EV and an ICE vehicle.
>>
>>28924764
I cant imagine tracking down grounding issues in that thing. Electrical problems are hard enough on ICE cars.
>>
>>28923936
>$40k
do i get the factory with it, and does it come with workers included
>>
>>28924764
they are the best of ev and ice
they have cheap weekday city runs and instant pickup of an ev, with ability to efficiently go cross-country like an ice, with a smaller battery and less powerful electronics than an ev, and a less powerful engine than an ice car, both requiring less maintenance because both are understressed and cheap to fix or even replace if needed
>>
>>28924798
Spoken like a redditor.
Can you address the reliability concern?
How about the fact that when you run without a charge youre basically on par with a hummer in efficiency?
There is no way you financially benefit from this. Its all for the sake of the manufacturer.

>people wouldn't buy our proper V8 or diesel trucks
>so much that we discontinue them

>BUT SURELY THEY WILL BUY THIS NEW SUV

It's not that I don't support Nissan marketing this, but what the fuck are they smoking to think it'll have a chance in hell against stuff like the Wrangler, Bronco, Landcruiser, and 4Runner?

If it's not coming equipped with a nice juicy fat 4.0L naturally aspirated V6 people aren't gonna be interested. Turboshart engines are a plague, anything turbo is faggot shit and adding more faggot shit to the already teeming pile is not worthwhile.

It's legit bothersome to see thirdies constantly getting fun stuff and the North American market gets typical bland shite.
