Samsung makes cars?
>>28926679Nissan and Renault did. They just slapped the Samsung name on there.

>>28928995>I will never forgive the boomer that commissioned this for stipulating that it had to be a one-off.Why? Because you wanted one of the worst shitboxes ever introduced to the US market with an Aston badge?Did you know you can get Smart cars todya for like $2000 running and driving, slap some aston badges on, swap the wheels and tires and double-sided tape some fender flares on and wa-la you have that exact car.

>>28933499I think you're forgetting about the 430hp V8
>>28926683Typical gooks
>>28933509Again, if you have the money and or skills, just go build it. A V8 in a smart car isn't a new or unique thing.
>>28933508Old portuguese plates. I prefer them to the new cringy EU spec plates
>>28925344man, feels odd to think GM would make a microcar this pretty
>>28933512That has a busa motorTo build your own V8 Cygnet you'd need a donor Vantage S and the ability to fab up the custom subframes for itAll I'm saying is that Aston should've built 50-100 just for the fuck of it

>>28935151>wants to play with his stick in an S10>posts a picture of the shitbox isuzu hombredream bigger kid. You're really not missing anything. At any rate, the S10 had the world's greatest V6 paired to the world's greatest automatic, a powertrain so good it was the entry level in full size trucks and vans of the same period. That was the actual setup you want, and there are plenty chugging along today. I could literally chirp the tires right off the ground from a standing start.

>>28935525Europe had the Mondeo in that category about then, the oval look didn't last long. The Scorpio was their high end executive car and sold against 5 Series BMWs and the like.
>>28935569Maybe the Mondeo aligns better with the Ford Contour?
>>28935591Contour was literally a rebadged Mondeo.
>>28935608Exactly, which means the Scorpio is the bong Taurus. Maybe they want claw back a few cool points and compare it to a SHO. It certainly isn't an American executive car like the Crown Vic.
>>28935636More like an earlier take on the Lincoln LS, not the Taurus.
I forgot
>>28933930damn, this is some serious animu greatness
>>28925360>>28935636Whenever I see someone mention the Scorpio, even on /o/, they always refer to the bubble eye mk2 Scorpio, but I always associate the name with the "Big Sierra" Mk1 Scorpio. The Sierra and Mk1 Granada Scorpio are very good looking cars imo, I ain't no Ford man, but these things are like a secret crush of mine.I know the engines in them suck shit, they rust like hell and are all around kinda terrible cars due to teenager abuse, but I wouldn't mind owning one.
>>28936340Another very handsome car from the same era is the A Omega.I really liked the more neutered or restrained designs of Fords and Opels of the time, specifically the Sierra and Omega when compared to BMW E30/E34 or the Mercedes W124/W201. The Mercs and BMWs were good looking, but they were maybe a tad too flashy and had a very boisterous and loud design next to Fords and Opels who at the time had a sleeker appearance.
>>28936340Yeah the Mk2 was designed by committee. The Mk1 was nice but the Mk2 Granada does it for me still. There is a gold Ghia locally.
>>28936381Cars were the best in the era when they copied the W123 Mercedes
>>28936343That car could get very spicy with a "few" tweaks.
>>28936381I specifically meant the Mk1 Scorpio, which is the uhhhh I think Mk3 Granada for bongs?Rest of yurop the Scorpio and Granada were 2 "completely unrelated" separate things, which makes discussions about them with bongs kinda hard, same as discussions between the Ford Taunus and Cortina or Opel Kadett/Vauxhall Viva
>>28936401I think I agreed and introduced the Granada.
>>28936404Then it's just an ESL moment from me, my bad nigga.
>>28936343Omegas also had a really comfy ride.We had a 2.0 autotragic back in 1997 for a while. Dad kept pointing out how it just kept gliding for literal miles with his foot completely off the gas lol (the other automatic cars we had always had a least some bit of braking going on when no gas applied, they definitely slowed down way way quicker)
>>28936420Rev and coast is an European thing, don't expect engine braking in your eighties/nineties Euro auto.

>>28935636>Scorpio is the bong TaurusIts not. The mondeo is the bong taurus. The Crown Vic is not an "executive car" (that's is what Lincoln is for), its simply a traditional full size sedan, which used to be the "standard" vehicle before the fuel crisis hit in the 70's. The scorpio does have some design cues from the Crown Vic. You have to think of the UK car market as like at 50% scale compared to the US. A "big" car in the UK is more like a midsize in the US and true "full size" American cars were never really popular in the UK.
>>28941745Those were insanely practical
>>28925344Since they all either died of roadsalt and shit water paint rotting the floor (or died earlier hamster deaths involving wrecks or ebay boost controllers) it feels like Chrysler's weird tuners made during the Iacocca years all got memory holed except for the occasional Omni GLH or Spirit RT mention. Every so often you see a decent condition Daytona knocking around for $2-4k kept by some eccentric with a warehouse full of spare parts from when the daily driven ones all died in the mid 00s.
