The Fiat 124 was a very conservative design, Fiat introduced Mcpherson struts with the next generation

Better than a 911, then?

it's a surprisingly capable tuning platform in general
baisically a slightly pudgy ae86, you can even bolt in a 16-valve from later fwd ladas
>>
>>28925520
therefore according to /o/ this is a better handling car than a 911
>>
>>28925520
Wow another degenerate which not like other. He dont want american car, europ car, japap nooo. He hear something about RUSSIAA who are they?European ?Asia? And they have a CAARS. I SHOUD BUY THIS CAR BECAUSE AM NOT NORMIEEEEE NOT A NPCCCC, i dont want JDM because now its for NORMIESSS

BTW im from Russia this cars are shit and only usful in Russia because of cheap parts

And of course it was stolen from Western and copied
>>
>>28925606
every car was stolen from the germans
>>
>>28925606
>And of course it was stolen from Western and copied
It was a license built variant of the Fiat, the Italians even set up the factory for the Russians.
>>
>>28925585
Its a licensed fiat 124,
people were sticking fiats 2 litre twincam engine for ages in these things with ease.
>>
>>28926323
Ease depends on availability, and availability depends on area. The further east you go, the easier it is to get a shesnar and the harder it is to get a twincam.
Plus the tuning profile is different. Twincam is better n/a, but shesnar readily takes boost.

why do you always have a meltdown when someone posts about russian cars
i just think they look cool, i also like american and japanese cars
>>
>>28926580
You're NOT allowed to like anything differing from the norm.
You're only allowed to like what the general consensus approves of.

That being said my favourite car thus far is my Skoda 120GLS and my favourite bike is my Ural. Best bike ever made is my 1962 Izh Jupiter.
>>
>>28926569
by ease I meant, the ease of fitting it in instead of sourcing it.
>>
>>28926580

Anyone who have lived in soviet block/ussr/russia knows soviet/russian car are shit . It's pathetic to read have bunch of western champagne socialist on /o/ glorifying anything from soviet/russia .
>>
>>28925603
>911
You know Porsche made a revamped 2103 concept in 1976, right?
>>
>>28926605
...and would refine the Lada Samara later in the 80's.
>>
>>28926603
Okay
>>
>>28926603
It's cool to see different engineering solutions. There's two types of car guys. Clout npc dipshits and the autistic dude looking at a model t horse hair loom wiring and wondering how it works.

You're obviously the former yet this form used to be for people like the latter. Globohomo vs globohomo gulag edition doesn't even enter into our brain.

We just see a cool technical piece built under duress. Simple as.
>>
>>28926603
kill yourself retard
>>
>>28926607
Porsche has surprisingly many connections with Russia. Most recently, they developed the engine for the Aurus for them. With proprietary technology, of course, so russians can't make any more engines now.
>>
>>28926630

holy hell , zigger epic cope .

''comrade , we will build better than rotten capitalist west''
''also comrade , here western design we stole , please copy it''

U like ''different engineering solutions'' , so why don't we see threads about North korean transport industry lol ?
>>
>>28926603
Anon, we know they are kinda shit. But we wouldn't be russians if we didn't make do with what we have and see the upsides even in the most dire situations.
Some soviet cars like Vaz and Gaz were pretty decent all things considered. Others like zapor were utterly irredeemable but even they are fun to fuck around in because cars are fun in general.
>>
>>28926649
North Korea does not have a transport industry, they buy everything from China. Including things they pretend they make for propaganda, they buy them from China. North Korea is not even a valid country, it's China's petri dish for societal experiments and a pocket Gavrila Princip to nuke true Korea, Taiwan or Japan and start a world war on the good guy side, they do not have any autonomous capability for literally anything. Their missiles are chinese, their nukes are chinese, their industry is chinese, ther food is chinese, their leader is chinese (why do you think he got so fat?).
Russia, for all its faults, actually does have some remnants of once great soviet industry kicking around.
>>
>>28926649
>U like ''different engineering solutions'' , so why don't we see threads about North korean transport industry lol ?
Accessibility. There's more English speaking people with access to Russian vehicles than North Korean technology. I wouldn't mind seeing Nork or Chinese posters talking about wood powered vehicles but they're separated behind a firewall.

Btw I think GDR, Czechoslovakian, Ukrainian, Romanian, etc commie countries also have cool shit.

My favorite car is a Trabant. You're just sperging about Russia because it's the current thing it's pathetic. Btw norks would be killed for talking to us so your premise is retarded to begin with.
>>
>>28926649
you sound like you have some self hate issue or something. i cant judge but you dont need to be a tankie or zigger to like something from russia. i just think volgas are cool
>>
>>28926658

''You're just sperging about Russia because it's the current thing it's pathetic'' .

I remember talking to my grandfather , who was engineer working in ''great soviet industry'' .
When I asked have good was soviet industry , he looked at me like I was idiot .
He told me there was nothing great . Majority of good ideas was thrown into garbage bin . Nepotism and corruption was unstable . ''Corners'' were cut in any opportunity .
Many times leadership forced adoption of stolen western schematics even if local solution was better .
Soviets did have brilliant minds , it's just every else was rotten .

pathetic is good word to describe cope addicts like u .
>>
>>28926649
oh. Its just a /k/tard spergout as usual.

RIFLE IS FINE.
>>
>>28925520
also has linked rear and aluminum rear drums with steel inserts.
lada niva has 4 pot front calipers kek
>>
>>28927520
The Niva 4 pots are really weird actually as they have like one big cylinder inboard and 3 smaller ones outboard, of which one is connected to the rear drum brakes
>>
>>28927521
so it's not 4 but 5? I remember it was something weird, my mechanic had niva. whole car is actually quite complex the way front diff is mounted to engine and not subframe.
too bad car is full of vibrations even from factory idk how could that pass testing phase.
>>
>>28927522
No, it's 4 pistons, one on the left and 3 smaller on the right, but out of the 3 on the right only the 1st and 3rd one are for front brakes, the middle one is connected to the rear brakes.
>>
>>28927523
also have you noticed rear drums and how light they are. it's aluminum and then just steel band inside. always have cracks and broken lips since people don't notice it's not steel and just start hammering like it's regular drum.
>>
>>28927524
Mine are regular steel drums, but they're probably aftermarket shit
>>
>>28926658
>You're just sperging about Russia because it's the current thing it's pathetic
NTA but people have been constantly shitting, rightfully, on snowniggers way before the internet was even a thing. Only muttistanis think this is somehow a "current thing" thing.

Disc conversion kits are readily available. Locking diffs too. The availability of aftermarket parts for Ladas is impressive.

Drove one i bought for 300e for 7 years
Solid shitbox
But now the engine is fucked and i have no time to repair it
>>
>>28927760
I wish this gay EU sanction bullshit would end so I could get parts from Russia again.
>>28927803
Fix it then, not like there's much to go wrong with a Samara except buying one.
