Ive built the diffs you see in races on TV, quite a few in fact, but mostly I do trucks. Typically Ill take it apart, figure what parts I'll need, then back it out and rebuild one I backed out yesterday or earlier. On real 4wd that's not a problem I leave the diff apart and back it out and park it on the other axle.Rams you can't do that anymore because that transfer case has idk what going on maybe clutches hold the rear to the front whatever it is the front wheels are not connected to the drive train directly. The 2500s and 35s are not like that ever far as I know, and some of the 15s also have traditional transfer cases according to Google. I've never seen em though.
