>2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid>timing chain>prius range>Toyota reliability Is this the only reasonable choice in 2026?
>>28928595>Toyota reliabilityalso no it isn't, civic hybrid is good too. There's a lot of good cars in that segment
Maverick hybrid is the other option>Mazda L5 / Duratec 2.5L engine with timing chain, port injection, no significant emissions bullshit, Atkinson or Otto cycle depending on load>Toyota licensed parallel hybrid technology (both engine and electric motors can drive the wheels independently or both)>Electric motors made by Toshiba>eCVT is simple, frictionless and made by AISINAlmost all drivetrain components are japanese engineered. It's actually cheaper than the Camry as well. Pic related my Maverick
>>28928595If you're an old man, sure.I got out of the poorfag boring reliable car phase after I drove something with a little bit of power.
>>28928623hows the sound system in this thing
>>28928595The civic LX and sport with 2.0l non turbo are still based as shit if you're into a straight gasoline car
>>28928677>cvt only
>>28928682That's what all the cars are now anon, but at least the 2.0L Honda engine isn't gonna hit you up with the "i need my cylinder head pulled off for 5k" 8 years after you buy it, people are literally having to spend $5,000 on CR-Vs and shit under 100,000 miles, for a problem thay literally didn't exist on the slow ass 2004 piece of shit 2.4l they had prior.
>>28928673It's pretty basic, 2 front door speakers 2 front tweeter 2 back tweeter. After adjusting the EQ and fade it sounds as good as my 2010 accord's 6.1 premium audio system. There's a lot of wind/road noise above like 70mph so that dampens the sound system but I see no reason to upgrade the speakers. It's loud enough to vibrate the shit out of the truck and be obnoxious to everyone in traffic.Maverick doesn't have much road noise insulation material compared to a Camry, but the curb weight is almost the same as a Camry.
>>28928595Holly shit goyots has a timing chain this is un presidented. I heard they also have that port fuel injection. How will the others ever recover?????
what do you guys think of the yaris? im trying to get a new/newish car that wont be a headache. saw some 2025 models even 2026 at my local dealership around 22k to 24k is that worth it? everywhere i research people keep saying to get a toyota hybrid
>>28928677CVT aside, how are you going to live with 150HP ?You're literally going to to get run over by Karen in her 400HP SUV if you don't time right when you pull on to a busy road.
>>28928905150 is enough. That's all most cars had for decades and decades.
>>28928908>yeah man, we don't really need seat belts. Cars ran fine for decades without them.
>>28928915Okay so what happened in the 90s whenever someone wanted to merge onto the highway in their 140hp Ford Taurus? Did people just not drive on the highways unless they had sportscars?
>>28928905You just get better at driving or you die.
>>28928931Back then every car was slower. Nowadays nearly ever car that isn't poverty spec is at least 200 HP. If you're still sitting around with your thumb up your ass with significantly less power than everybody else you're putting yourself in danger.
>>28928967Why does the other car having more hp make it harder for you to merge?
>>2892890580-90 HP is really all you "need" in a compact car.
>>28928967>>28928973NTA but 'tis true, you need at least 500HP to survive in daily traffic these days.Everybody is a zero-impulse-control Karen, TikTok-brainrotted zoomer, or lowlife Fentameth addict, full-throttling at every green light just to squeeze in ahead of you by 1 car.Even if they're Le Thuperior Huwyte "Male"™ they're some terminally insecure boomer and have to ego-trip get ahead of you and don't you dare pass them in they'are Harley Bauer Edition truck.
>>28928905Don't pull out into oncoming traffic like a retard I guess
>>28928983I have never experienced this in the Midwest, either commuting between suburbs or driving in to the city, and my car has like 120 hp.You coasties need to chill out.
