The brakes are very good (they don’t fade, even if they are over-servo’d) and the power comes on strong and it doesn’t run out of ideas up the top of the rev range like a lot of turbo sixes. The auto is better than the manual as is always the case with BMWs made in the last 40 years. Visibility is good for a modern car and you can fit in it if you’re taller and heavier. There’s space in it for items and people for short trips. It’s priced well for what it is. It is ugly but that doesn’t matter much because you can’t see that from insideDespite that I couldn’t get on with the steering. The turn in is poor. Even for a modern system it’s particularly bad. Combine that with a stupidly thick wheel for a road car and it becomes shit quick. When you get it loose there isn’t any suggestion of feedback and the weight under braking and cornering is always apparent. The suspension works well on a decent road but it reminds me a lot of the very early M4s in that when it hits bumps or a severe camber it gets out of shape, perhaps not as catastrophically but it still crashes through stuff more than I’d like. If it was my money going for one I’d probably just get an M4 because it’s a larger, better riding version of the same concept and if you can afford an M2 you can afford an M4You’d not regret buying one as the things it does well it does really well but it’s not a drivers car and arguably they haven’t been since the E9x M3. Man reading this thread is so depressing.I own a 20 years old Mazda and when I drive her I feel only one feel. FUNNothing else. Its a stupid 4 cylinder 112 horses engine in a car thats way too heavy for it. StillThe gas pedal gives back the vibration of the engine to my foot. I dont know if its an intended feature or not; I read it happens often in this model. It allows me to know the exact rpm without ever looking at the clock. Brakes are hydraulic; Clutch is hydraulic, gas is on an analog line. Body is rusting, i have red streaks on the body everywhere. Still, I just tested it with a mechanic, whole suspension holds firm, she walks like on a leash. Most of the time I lead her with one finger, hand resting on my knee, while going 160km/h on the highway. I drive a lot for my work. just FUN. I take the projects that always are far away. I get the drive fully paid as work time, and its just FUN.To all you bmw cucks with your heated seats on a abonament, I have two words to tell you. zoom zoom.
