Mexicans can own Chinese cars. They can just drive them in the US while visiting. Americans still can't own them. I've seen a few Mexican plated Geely and BYD products in Los Angeles. They're nice but apparently not that reliable in the long term. I am jealous of the wagon variants of Euro cars they can buy that we can't. I saw a Mercedes CLS wagon with Baja plates once and a lifted Hilux diesel. Also a lot of VW Amaroks, diesel Nissan Navaras and those Ram 700 mini pickups. We are apparently going to get small Mexican built Ram pickups soon though. I really want one of those Golf based mini pickups desu.

Why do chinese cars love to copy German designs? That's literally a VW ripoff.
>>
>>28929782
I would not be too excited about Chinese cars just yet. I love those chink faggots but they think quality is like a yes or no thing. They have no common sense of balance. I think it is a managerial thing. Fuckers cut corners in all the wrong places unless quality is the primary goal, then they go overboard with forged steel, hardwood bedded pellet guns that can shave a gnat’s nutsack.

IIRC that was stated whan they decided to sell food where I am.

/o/ lust after the shittiest cars. i really don't get it. we're spoiled for choice and cheap reliable used cars and fun cars in america and you want this junk?

It's like being at an all you can eat buffet and then walking straight to the bathroom and going "look! someone didn't flush, finally a meal!". i realize none of the people shilling chinese shit will ever buy one even if they could. i've yet to see a single person on this board with a chinese car. they'll never spend their own money on it but they'll spend every waking moment trying to convince you that you should.

They are very high feature but you can't expect they're going to last a long time as Japanese or Korean brands. Actually German and American are even much more reliable. They're good if you want something luxurious feeling but don't drive heavily.

The Germans had licensing and joint venture agreements with them for a long time. The Mexican military bought some Chinese trucks recently that were based on previous generation Mercedes-Benz designs. There was for a short time, controversy in Germany about the Mexican military using Mercedes Benz trucks, so Chinese clones were simply acquired, then Mercedes truck engines were installed once the trucks were in service, as the Chinese copies were a bit lower spec and there are is already local Mexican production of Daimler engines. Kind of funny how these radically different styled Chinese models can still freely swap in genuine Mercedes parts like Lego.

They've already been delegated to National Guard now since the army is back to being able to acquire Mercedes Benz trucks properly once more.

nobody fucking cares about this disposable npc shit you disingenuous fagbot

They actually build these in Mexico now, but they're different than the versions sold in China. You can option them with Cummins engines built in Coahuila for Ram.

I cant WAIT to buy a chinese car from a mexcrement !!!
>>
>>28929782
They have them here, they are not even cheaper than what Toyota and Nissan used to charge. Most of the car is made by robots, being made in China isn't going to save much on costs.

>>28929930
The country with the most favorable deals want even cheaper cars. The majority of cars in America are a fair bit cheaper than their native countries.

BYD EVs are extremely reliable.

you know because you bought one with your own money, right.

From now on, you must post your BYD to criticize it! You heard it from him, folks.

Why is the Chinese Communist party paying people to post on /o/ of all places?

Why would the US market be that important?
We are 1/18 of the world's market at Best.
Makes more sense to shill in 2nd/3rd world countries.
Are the yellow men just dumb?

>China’s High-Tech Cars
Would those be, exactly? There’s nothing high tech about electric motors or the batteries that go into them, especially compared to an ICE. Are iPads considered high tech again or something? Did the person who wrote that headline never leave 2007?
>>
>>28930376
They're trying to get their cars unbanned from us roads. Same reason so many influencial people keep shilling for their shitty EV cars

They have a hard-on for luxury. They also still kept getting the Buick Park Avenue long after the US, though it was just a Holden Caprice rebadged, but the name is what mattered most to them. The elite get the real name stuff and then the poorfag normies get the rip off stuff to feel like they're elite too.
