If you think daily driving a manual sucks, there's something wrong with your city. Putting more than half million people in one place might have been a mistake. Putting more than 2 millions was certainly a mistake.

on my way into work i spend most of my time in 6th gear (freeway)
on my way back from work (same route just opposite direction) i spend most of my time hunting between 1st and 2nd and neutral. the gearing of the rear end makes it such that i almost always wanna be in 1.5.

its ass. i like my manual car but my automatic car just does daily commutes better.
>>
The only reason people got manual shitboxes was that the automatic transmission was more money
>>
>>28931040
Sure, kid.
You'll advocate for a worse thing because you're lazy, unfit, and have no balls. And you'll tell yourself you're better for it. Cute, I think that's what the kids call "cope."
>>
>>28931033
Is it really a great idea to prioritize where you live based on how easily you can drive a manual transmission car on your way to work? Maybe there's like... at least one or two more things that have more priority than that?
>>
>>28931063
What benefit is there to living in a city that big other than your family is there?
It costs way more to live, you have less privacy, less free time (due to traffic), and you're around other people all the time.
>>
>>28931045
You're poor, unc
>>
if you live near or fail to avoid city limits while driving you are already in for a bad time,
congrats you're going to get t-boned by a drunk beaner skank and sit at red lights and get hassled by the local police.
just go around retard, even if it's 7 miles out of your way it's always worth it.
>>
>>28931063
weird concept, but what if your priorities were aligned ex:
>i want to live in a safe, racially homogenous area (white)
>i want land
>i don't want to see homeless, tent villages, or RV's on the sidewalks
>i don't want my kids going to school in a minority daycare (zoo)
All of these things point towards an environment conducive to driving a MT.
up next
>why driving a car with a MT is actually white supremacy
>>
>>28931067
Nah, you're fat and think that driving manual is some serious workout.
>>
>>28931071
Nah, your entire personality is driving a manual because you're poor.
>>28931066
>costs way more to live
So your company is actually about money because you're poor. My bmi is less than yours btw
>>
>>28931073
My BMI is 20.9.
I drive manual because it's fun. I've done hour-each-way commutes in cities and never been bothered by it. I find it hilarious you think it's some "status symbol" to drive what 95% of the population drives. I'm sorry your mom wouldn't buy you the manual.
>>
>>28931070
That's literally my point, retard. You're choosing where you live based on a number of other, actually significant reasons.
Imagine two guys who live next to each other in rural Idaho or whatever flyover state you want to live in. One says he lives there because of all the reasons you give and the other says "driving manual is hard in the city". Doesn't the other guy sound like the biggest imbecile of all time?
>>
>>28931079
>Doesn't the other guy sound like the biggest imbecile of all time?
You're using a strawman. Someone might make that remark but no one would use it as their sole actual reason to not live in a city. There are many, many, reasons to not want to live in a city and you condensed it down to one offhand remark.
>>
>>28931082
>no one would use it as their sole actual reason to not live in a city.
I would like to introduce you to my friend, "OP"
>>28931033
>If you think daily driving a manual sucks, there's something wrong with your city.
When the only thing you think that's wrong with living in the city is "daily driving a manual sucks", you're an imbecile. When that's the one thing that makes you think you want to move somewhere else, you're retarded.
>>
>>28931139
I'm that anon not op.
I don't understand why people live in cities for many reasons. What is the benefit? There are more big corporate jobs but everything is twice as expensive, you'll rarely see open roads or walk through the woods. I've driven manual only for 21-22 years, sometimes in big cities, it's not a big deal.
They probably only say that to you because you speak to them in places about cars. It's really a proxy for "fuck all these people I want to run wild alone."
>>
>>28931033
I don't get why people think manual is so inconvenient in traffic. I got a manual because my ADHD zoomer ass gets distracted when I drive. In heavy traffic, I put the car into first and just roll. Everyone else accelerates, slams on their brakes, repeats, but I just keep rolling along.
>>
>>28931070
>why driving a car with a MT is actually white supremacy
Because it's something one's dad teaches them how to do?
>>28931037
What is torque? I generally don't even use 1st gear unless I'm launching from a dead stop, uphill, and maybe towing.
>>
>>28931033
This is a self-inflicted problem.
Traffic was literally solved by WFH but the corpos forced everyone back to save their real estate portfolios.
>>
>>28931033
All this "muh manuals" is just cringe amerifat posting. In Europe, we don't care. We used manual gearbox for decades, because it was the superior choice at the time. But the tech has advanced, now there is no need for a manual transmission. There is no usecase. It's slower. It's less efficient. Compared to modern transmissions.
>>
>>28931070
Monkey paw moment; you get everything on your list but the area is zoned for EVs only.
>>
>>28931231
I'd happily go back to horse and buggies if it meant a comfy white ethnostate.
>>
>>28931223
>more reliable
>cheaper to fix in the event something goes tits up.
Enjoy those CVT's and turbo 3 cylinder cars you'll be cunted with in the very near future though.
>>
>>28931243
Nope, no horses, I said EVs. We have to keep the roads clean for cyclists.
>>
>>28931253
fine, your terms are acceptable.
Though, hauling things will get trickier, but i guess that's a price i'm willing to pay.
