I should be legally allowed to play with my phone while driving on the highway in handsfree mode as long as I look up every 30 seconds. The problem with autonomous driving systems is they will be ultra-nanny and make you stare at the road the WHOLE time with no excursions permitted or the whole system deactivates and won't restart.
>>28931465>The problem with autonomous driving systems is they will be ultra-nanny and make you stare at the road the WHOLE time Nope, a huge reason this autonomous shit is being rolled out is because they actually do want you just mindlessly thwacking away at your phone the whole time. It makes you a better consumer, which is why "personalized" ads are now making it into car infotainment systems. The problem in fact stems from people who believe they "should be legally allowed to play with my phone while driving".
>>28931465>picrelthought that was an audi suv with an infiniti badge. Do aussies really stoop that low to unabashedly buy knock-offs or are there just too many chinks living in aus nowadays
Is there really a difference between using your phone and using the screen in the car anymore? It's basically the same thing.
>>28931512They are way cheaper than other offerings and cars in australia are otherwise outrageously marked up from their cost elsewhere.
>>28931512Aussies are poor on average and taxed to hell (it’s from their euro imperial heritage) so they have to buy cheap chinaman cars
>>28931465Okay then I should be legally allowed to rear end you or pit you when you're on your phone and not paying attention. Fair?
>>28931564well no, the whole point is only in cars with automatic emergency braking and it should still buzz me if it needs my immediate attention>>28931562I think its also manufacturers just taking advantage of a captive market. They cant be that poor if their cars cost 10-15k more than they do in the US and maybe 5k more than in Europe.
Im on my phone (4chan) for 50k miles a year
