What’s it worth?Description->Super fun lil hardtail chopper to rip around on ! It does not run at the moment I have pics of it when it did and then the last pics are what it looks like now. It started making a lil metal to metal noise on the top end ? I’m guessing rocker box or possible push rod issue ?!? I have other projects I’m ready to move on with, so this is a killer project for those that wanna wrench a lil and have a cool ride ! New tires and bearings, I recently rebuilt the transmission and it has all new primary gaskets and seals. Any questions shoot me a message …BEST OFFER GETS IT !!!

How hard is building a chopper for a guy like me that has tools, but isn’t mechanically inclined?Say I buy the engine, frame, transmission, etc. Would I just be better off buying one already done for say 6 grand? Also what is an MSO? How hard is it to title a built bike?
>tfw 2 shoomers without rear tiresIm trying to sold my bikesTurns out, im jonesin for a bike to rideI need them sold and i need to disappeared before court jannies boogaloo 2.0 happens in june, fr fr this time because its the pink slip edition now
>>28932443I've never heard anybody describe their chopper build experience as "easy". But maybe being less mechanically inclined would result in getting less ambitious or creative with what you feel like you should remove or relocate? In any case, it will always cost more to title a custom build than it will to chop an already running, titled bike.
Should I buy a relatively mint gas tank near me?Mine is perfectly fine, however I have no intention to get rid of the bike im question so the idea of having a spare incase of the original getting fucked from an accident or crash seems like a wise investment. Hypothetically speaking, let’s say there’s a really pretty custom bike. No title BUT it has an “MSO”. It’s my understanding that this is basically a birth certificate for a bike. Is this something simple to take care of, or is this just something you just don’t wanna mess with?
>>28933000>MSOThey better be a licensed dealer. Otherwise this smells like Title Jumping.
>>28932806They're bulletproof, even thirdies still have some of those, after many accidents, neglected maintenance and too many owners - they still run no matter what. Not a mechanic but could use help/advice:Changed my oil recently. When I was riding the other day I checked the oil level, and I saw it was foamy. Like a thin layer of bubbles on the top, they weren't going away quickly when stopped or the bike turned off. Did I add too much oil, googling says it can get foamy like that if there was too much added? I am positive nothing else got inside when I changed it, and I had just bought the oil from the store that day so I really doubt it was contaminated or anything like that. Last time I changed my oil (using the same brand) I didn't have this problem. Is there an easy fix I can do? Is there a best way to drain just alittle bit of oil without taking the plug out or anything like that? Thanks.
>>28933151Wait for it to be cold and check the sight glass. If it does have too much oil you can open the plug a little bit and let it drain out until you get the right level.
>>28933151Smell fresh, cold oil. Then, smell your oil from the fill port when the engine is hot. How much like petrol does it smell?IMO do an oil change anyway, but the (if) fuel smell is usually indicating of either running rich, running too cold or too much blow-by on the rings.

Just kinda flatter gravel tracks are a nice way to start and then start pushing your options and go from there, I don't know what the legalities are where you are so I don't know exactly how you'd find the specific trails, maybe see if you can find some off road riders locally and see if they'll share some trails with you. With regards to that dualsport, I was talking to a buddy today about it and I think what looks odd about it for a dualsport is the sort of naked/streetfighter style headlight and the lumpy seat rather than a skinnier flat seat. It looks like something I'd expect to see people flying around on in like Vietnam. Otherwise it looks okay, if not a little underhwleming performance wise, I'd probably rather get a used CRF250L or something in all honesty, but it's nice to see them try to break into another market.

Happy Eurobirthday, Hane-chan
>>28933727cute post
>>28933727nice>>28933601that would have been really apreciated, thanks anon. one of the guys i ride with just got a used GS so he said as soon as i find some unpaved we can go together but to be honest i kinda want to go alone for the first time even if it might be a bad idea, i just kinda don't want to be a drag for other people and my first really bad, slow, full of stops experiences may be better for some solo-adventures
Its dead
>>28933480>until it wasnt running too rich or lean.Got it, what about the needle shims, how did you know to put two?
>>28933645Does he not realize you can hear music even with earplugs? I just use cheap CVS foam ones with a Sena that I've had for like 15 years and they work fine
Oh no I think i'm gonna buy Suzuki Vstrom. I'm sorry Honda-Chan.
how retarded of an idea would it be to remove the OEM air filter box and replace it with eg. pipercross pod filters?
>>28933643believe what you want, but on my route to work it's very hilly. I can literally use a higher gear for hills that I had to downshift for previously. I had to go up many sizes because it was too lean with the new stacks. dunno what to tell you anon it's a bike from 1981, there's improvements that can be made to it. I'm not claiming this is some insane upgrade, idk why you are getting so riled up>>28933753I added the first set of shims and went on a test ride to see if the midrange felt better, which it did. tried another set and it got even better. tried a third shim but it started feeling worse again so I went with 2 shims. just testing each increment and seeing where I need to go from there
>>28933778depends on how well you can dial in the fueling and if the filtration is good enough for your wants.
>>28933781that reminds me: can I use a wideband O2 sensor to help with dialing in the fueling on a carbureted bike?
Who here milked their baiku today?
>>28933786Is that a mix of coolant and oil dripping from the engine?
>>28933782You can't, but yea it can be done. Wrenchlet
>>28933782I'm not sure. I think if you set it up with an AFR gauge, but if it has more than one carb, you'd have to use a bunch lol.
>>28933786No, but i did drsin the crf450rl coolant the other week, i still have to drain the oil too but im currently lacking a rear wholAs is my zx14rAll the bikes are missing wheelsIts infuriating
>>28933787XB9S, air cooled bike. Came out of the transmission reservoir and the inspection cover gasket was fine so the main one is probably letting water in. Engine oil looked fine.
Used to have a 06 vegas 8ball with a lot of aftermarket parts. Someone tried to murder me on 992020 so I don't ride no more. Nice 3 year run with no car though
I really like my street tribble but it’s so good it’s almost boring and lacks that jap sportsbike sovl. Also fuck not having fairings and the ability to lean off naturally or get weight on the bars during accel. I finally settled on wanting that locked in riding position. >>28932443>has tools, but isn’t mechanically inclined? It'll be hard. But dumber people than you(probably) do it for a living. Also you'll be mechanically inclined afterwards lol. My advice is buy something that runs, and do it in parts if practical. It's easy to lose motivation on project bikes, and it's nice when you know once you get whatever you're doing back together you'll get to ride it. It's a massive amount of work that's hidden under what's not there, as well as what is. Price out everything you'll need. Now double it. That's a realistic cost. You could buy one done, but that's poser shit, can't relate.
>>28933960He neess to tske the dirster pill
I sold my 2012 883 Iron today. 3400 bucks. I hope the guy enjoys it. I hope I did alright. He said he got out of sports bikes cause he almost died. Apparently he shut down either 4 or all 7 lanes (can’t remember) in Atlanta. Crazy stuff.
>Talking to old family friend about upgrading from a dual sport to a more comfortable longer range bike>Mention a t7 because it's kind of the default>He says I should look at the Super Tenere instead>I explain that 1200cc is overkill for the amount of luggage I plan to carry>"You're not going to want that pissant 700. >>28933975T700 has a very narrow seat. If you plan on touring best change the seat
>>28933978Nah I enjoy the seat stuck in my butt crack while the cheeks hanging out from the sides. Very comfortable for 10 hours ride per day.

>>28933230With that much shit stacked on it, being heavier and less agile and slow as fuck, might as well buy a larger CC bike with better everything. This is a tryhard social bike, we all know you're a attention seeking faggot who spends time in hipster cafe and instagram posting/scrolling daily.
>>28933557Is that a duke 125 or 390 ? The kits looks weird as fuck.
>>28933988What a coincidence! I’m sure we’ll find other bikes, friend.
>>28933975Super Tenere is a solid bike if your riding for thousands of miles and will inevitably end up on the interstate. I would take a Super Tenere if I were taking a trip up to dead horse or the north coast of Canada. T7 for everything else. A lot of people still haven't updated their programing on CC's since like 2006.
>>28933978>>28934011I'm more surprised at how many people routinely sit at 100mph for hours at a time and never catch DPS on their ass.
>>28932267what's more disgusting, crossover bikes or crossover cars?
>>28933236Why the hell would you get your first bike from a dealer? There’s like an extra 40% added onto it with bullshit out of door stuff on their end, the bike is clearly already too expensive for you since you want to finance it. And, you being a retard, probably American, means even with a license you ride like shit and will crash your first bike Go on marketplace or something, get a Japanese for 2-5k and ride it until it breaks or you break it. THEN you can waste money on a out-the-dealer brand new overly plastic and electronics deprecating, cheap corners cut piece of shit
