Consumer Reports and other media publications always say some car brands are to be avoided like Stellantis due to problems. They can't be that bad otherwise people would stop buying them right? Are they just statistically higher than the median, but still not as bad as CR is trying to portray them as?
>>28932403I feel like there's a disconnect between what the rest of the world considers quality vs what Americans consider quality. They've been gaslit and conditioned by advertising to accept total shit.
>>28932403Still could be worseFor example Soviet cars were even more unreliable. Their owners/drivers in the USSR were aware of that and many has necessary skills to fix them, even on the road shoulder. Fixing it was easy enough for those who knew what to do; even with a piece of wire. Many kept spare parts in the trunks of their vehicles e.g. timing belts. That’s why women drivers were rare in the USSR. You couldn’t drive a soviet car if you all you could do beneath the hood is filling windshield cleaning tank.
reputation for reliability is weak against massive discounts and easy financing
>>28932403How is the Wrangler? Sucks that such a classic beast is made by shitty Stellantis that makes it to low quality standards. I still really want one though.
>>28932403>They can't be that bad otherwise people would stop buying them right? For the same reason people buy Hyundais. People are willing to accept garbage if it doesn't cost a lot and has a warranty.
