The joy of racingThe joy of competitionIts feels good anons.https://youtu.be/B12ToKdGnpc?t=32559
>>28933300Not clicking your shit but nobody cares about spec class other than retired boomers with too much money on their hands and overzealous dads who push their kids through it in hopes they're the next Earnhardt or Senna.
>>28933300op did you mean to link your horsefucker video or are you actually retarded
>>28934370post reeks of jealousy
>>28934375Its not jealousy, its familiarity.#1)>pic relatedThis isn't "weekends at the local dirt track" stuff. This is "I only race at 3 events a year because every other track is more than 14 hours away".You dont just fly in for the weekend. You have to drive your shit there.#2)A used setup (car + trailer + tools + spare parts) is going to run $50k-$80k.Thats fine if youre a retired boomer thats burning through your kid's inheritance. But if youre everyone else youre going to get pissed when EVERY FUCKING RACE said boomer clips your front end and you have to swap ANOTHER front wing.#3)So now you have the car and mobile garage. You still need a tow rig to get it there and a place to sleep. You can do a 1 ton and a hotel or a motorhome or whatever but you have to do something. And no, youre not sleeping in the back of your truck and taking shits at the gas station.#4)Because of spec rules, you have to use/buy specific parts from the organization only. There was an issue a few years back where they had a limited amount of tires available so you were limited to how many sets an individual could buy in a year. So you couldnt even practice locally because if you burned through your allocated amount of tires you didnt have any left for race day. There was another issue one year when they changed the type of shock but because supply was limited they gave priority to those that were at official events. So if you wanted to practice you did it on the old setup then come race day your car would be tuned completely differently. That shit ain't fun.Overall it looks like a blast on paper. And track time really is.But to actually make that raceday happen is a shitload of logistics that are overlooked.
>>28934475but the op didn't say anything about any particular kind of racingi do agree though, people underestimate their local dirt/paved circle track racing, being able to have competitive racing twice a month and relatively much cheaper is great even if you are going in a circle
>>28934502Then he should have used a pic of a generic dirt oval car instead of a niche formula mazda.Majority of people here are not going to click on a random YouTube link.Probably why his thread was on its was to page 11
>>28934475damn you're pathetic lol. i'm 28 and i've raced in a few different spec series and they're all just good fun. spec miata is great, especially in florida.
>>28934475>"it's not jealousy">hits the character limit attempting to convince yourselflol
>>28934560Spec miata can be done dirt cheap. Very different requirements than formula Mazda or formula Ford.Throwing your shitbox onto a trailer for the local track is not the same.>>28934630Nexr time address what I posted instead of replying with ad hominems.
>>28934677you don't even need a trailer for spec miata. just buy a miata and have a trackside service company handle the rest.
>>28934851You can just drive your miata to the track. Its spec class of a street legal car.
Spec classes aren't cheap. Spec Miata at the national level is insanely expensive. Same cost as Star Mazda or F2000.>>28934475What is the point of your post exactly? People spend 100k a year on national level karting. It doesn't matter what you're racing the cost is the same at the highest level. Unlimited or spec makes no fucking difference. The tires alone are prohibitive for 95% of this board. If your goal is to just have fun once or twice a year then any class will do.t.
