My brother gave me his olderish car, and he said I probably should change all the fluids, but apparently to change the transmission fluid it'll be like 500 leaf bucks. But the car has 230,000km on it and apparently he hasn't changed the transmission fluid once. I went to one place and they said I needed it flushed, another said to leave it and just drain, another said to flush. Internet is a mixed bag on this opinion. So which is it? (It's an automatic)

Maybe do a drain and fill every 30k until you've done 3 since it's kind of been neglected...I guess it depends on the total capacity and how much comes out, though. I don't think that would be crazy. I just don't trust any shop to do a flush.
