I’m in the market for a Mustang and here’s my story from today>went to dealership #1 after I saw they had a GT Premium priced at 56k>get there and it turns out they sold it a day ago. They offer to show me a base GT instead>Base GT is 58.8k, 1.8k higher than the GT Premium>the fuck?>turns out it’s a GT build (cloth seats instead of heated leather seats, no cool sound system compared to the premium) that has “performance package” that sends it higher in price than a Premium>tell them I couldn’t care any less about the performance package and I just want a GT Premium, but still willing to talk numbers>they agree to 5k down for 600 a month for 36 months and 12k miles>I tell them the seats are bothering me and I’d think about it. Take the offer paper and a printout of the sticker with me>go to dealership #2 and say I want a GT Premium and they need to match the offer terms from dealership #1. They don’t have any GT Premium’s on site but offer to get me one in the color I want at the same terms except it’ll be 39 months instead of 36 and also they wanted the 5k immediately as a deposit because they had to order it>tell the guy I’ll think about it>he gets pissed and says he just gave me everything I wanted why won’t I make the deal. Tell him it’s been a long day and I need time>leave and text the manager from dealership #1 the sticker of the GT Premium dealership #2 is offering, saying I want this one but I want it at the terms we agreed for (36 months)>manager says ok and he’ll try in the morning to get one but like dealership #2 he needs a deposit if he finds it>tldr is that I’m now sitting between two dealerships that don’t have any GT Premium’s on site but both are offering to get me the exact one I want and one dealership is offering 36 months instead of 39 months from dealership #2What do you think of terms overall? Feel free to tell me if I did good, bad, or if you don’t care and I should kill myself :)
Are you leasing or something?
>>28936019Correct
reminder to ignore all „I’m about to buy car xyz“ threads
>>28936006>he doesnt want the performance pack you're ngmi and its gonna drive like a beached fucking whale
>>28936050Not paying an extra 7k for some shit I don’t need
>>28936320>he says while shopping for a new car.
>>28936006>he's going to rent a mustang for $27k
>>28936006Mustgays are disappointing desu senpai. Nearly SITTY GAY for that piece of shit. The low end is weak as heil, it's slow-reacting (not just due to weight, but due to the nature of the engine), so every Karen in her turbo/hybrid/EV CuckUV will blast off the line faster than you. Floor it and you'll just spin tires into a crowd. They're riddled with tons of quality defects from the factory. I was looking at some new 2026s and noticed paint chips in the corners of the bumpers because they rubbed during assembly. Everything rattles or clunks and will break as soon as the warranty's up.
>>28936019>>28936026Holy shit do not do that.
>>28936347It's fine if he's got money to burn, it beats paying 60k for a piece of shit ford engine that will blow up right after the warranty runs out.
>>28936358i'd trust a ford v8 that spends the majority of it's life under 3k RPM over a 4cyl turbo from literally any manufacturer (including Ford)
>>28936347He's only spending $26.6k and then is free to walk away.
>>28936026>paying 26k to not own a car
>>28936397He's spending $26.6k for an asset he loses in 3 years. If a person is buying a toaster to get around from a to b, that's *maybe* one thing, but if you're buying a mustang, that's an enthusiast car. Seems likely he'll wanna keep it longer than 36 months. In which case, leasing is fucking stupid. Plus you can't modify shit on a lease. So, any possible changes he'd wanna make, he gets to pay twice for, the second time to remove when it goes back. Doesn't sound like the move op, but you do you...
>>28936428It's the same whether he leases it or buys it outright, if he decides he doesn't like it in three years and goes back to the dealership they will offer him $30k for it if he's lucky. The only situation in which you save money is if you keep the car until it runs into the ground. Actually you do save the tax on the remaining 30k if you decide to lease.>>28936369All fords have fucking belts submerged in oil, even the new ones still use a belt for the oil pump. Fords are the new audi, you lease them and throw them away before the belt destroys the engine.
>>28936434Congrats, you paid 50% of the price to own a shell with a blown engine that will be worth nothing afterwards. A new roof is $5k on a house worth $400k-1mil. Buying a new car period is financial suicide. If you lease for three years you will still have $30k leftover to buy a more reliable used car afterwards if you want.
>>28936439>All fords have fucking belts submerged in oilthe coyote does not do this btw.
>>28936452>just buy the dark horseThe regular 5.0L Ti-VCT engine on the GT premium uses a wet belt for the oil pump.
>>28936463I stand corrected, the mustang coyote apparently doesn't use a wet belt, but the F150 coyote does... I don't know, I'll leave the russian roulette to you fordfags.
>>28936026I dont see the point in leasing a mustang, are you euro? they are overly abundant in the states just get an older one for less money>>28936029learn how to use quotation marks
>>28936470I dunno hoss, I'm driving a 2010 GT, at this rate i'll keep it on the road until it dies, or me. Cars after like 2015 are just so fucking pozzed and gay, the end game of it all is kind of troubling. Completely engineered to fail (like your wet belt example), chasing silly emissions/efficiency standards at the expense of long term reliability and ease of repair. What happens once the supply of normal, non-tech encumbered vehicles dries up?(Like my current 2010; it's a v8 with a MT. no crazy high pressure fuel system with DI, no turbos to have failing seals, etc etc.)
>>28936434by the time I pay off a house I'll be old as shit and at this rate I don't think im having any kids to begin with. even if I had the chance, I have some reservations about bringing someone into this fucked up world
>>28936474>What happens once the supply of normal, non-tech encumbered vehicles dries up?Most places still let you register self built cars, for people with a will there will be a way.
>>28936336No one blasts off the line with any speed at all retard. My car is 190 horsepower and I still take off faster than anyone else.
>>28936523Every random Karen or Persian teenage girl is blasting off the line in their entry level MB/BMW/Audi/Tesla. They have to be first. They have to get their way
>>28936336Post car. I can smell parrot from here.>>28936551Yeah no. They're on their phone and haven't noticed the green light until someone next to them started moving. You are legitimately stupid and doubling down. I see your type all the time, and you are actively antagonistic to higher civilization because you don't want to know the truth, you just want to be right.
Not reading all that
>>28936026Thread’s over, pack it up
>>28936006>5k down for 600 a month for 36 months and 12k miles
>>28936358If you finance it you eventually own a car that you can build to make a fucktillion horsepower and run 9s, if you lease it you're out 30 grand and you don't even get a car at the end of it all
It truly blows my mind that anyone would lease a car for any reason, ever. How could anyone be so utterly, utterly stupid>>28936006
>>28936579>tfw you bought your car last September and already hit 12k miles.Do people actually drive that little?? 4k/miles a year?(i might be clinically retarded and perhaps misunderstand how leasing works, no bully plz)
>>28936556lmao that's a whole novel about what you imagine me to be
>>28936624>that's a whole novel>55 words>4 sentencesthat's barely a paragraph you illiterate brain rotted zoomer
>>28936006Bro fuck all of this, I just do private party or auction sites like Bring a Trailer/Dougs & Bids, I fucking hate all this dealership bullshit. Whenever I see a "doc fee", that's up to $2,000 they can go fuck themselves, filling out paperwork for the DMV is one of the easiest things ever, I'm not gonna spend $2,000 so you can get a runner to wait an hour in an RMV, I'll take the hour lost just to shove it in their face. And then financing I usually just buy cash, but if I need the liquidity because I found an amazing deal or perfectly specced car I've never seen before without the cash on-hand, then I'll just go to my local credit union that just cuts me a check after getting basic information, no hassle. I usually do 60 month loans with as little down for the liquidity, then pay it off in a year when my bonus rolls in and I don't want to touch my portfolio. Trying to wheel and deal a dealership is such a fucking scam, I'm not going to waste my time with a bunch of retards that want to nickle and dime me until they eventually relent on their "protection" fees or bullshit warranties.OP you're a retard, leasing a S650 is retarded, it's waaaay too overpriced for what it is. Just buy an S197 *outright* with the gen 1 Coyote, so a 2011. They both have the garbage MT82 so you're not even getting a Tremac, and the only real difference is IRS and a bunch of stupid screens.
>>28936685Ok but the gen1 MT82's in the s197 are some of the worst without any of the improvements. And I think IRS is a big deal for handling and ride quality...At least get a 2015+
>>28936688If he's a retard that's more focused on stupid heated seats and screens instead of getting the Brembos, then he's just a larper that's always wanted to drive a "sports/muscle car", and of course he's looking at the new S650 as baby's first Mustang. You just know that OP probably wouldn't even know what IRS is, let alone the difference between the two generations. And if he's a retard that wants to lease an overpriced rental car, instead of spending like $10k for a nice 2005 S197 from someone on FB marketplace, then he's already lost.I agree with you though, S550s aren't bad at all. I was actually looking at 2018+ for the Coyote 3 a long time back, but ultimately I found a manual 2012 CTS-V for the same price, and decided that the Mustang can be a nice deal, but it's so little car for the price compared to even the Challenger R/T. It's just so hard for me to like modern Ford lolFound the Mustang for OP, pic related
>>28936713>trans mustangman, that's cold.
>>28936713I will say that after having a 2010 GT for the past few months, I have absolutely zero regrets about the purchase. It's a bit slower than a 5.0 ofc, but realistically for daily driving that makes roughly zero difference. It was ~$12k (dealership) with 85k miles. There's some minor paint chips on the hood and missing interior panels (which are like $50 on amazon to replace, if I cared to) it's a very pretty, solid, reliable car. I mention this because with a private party sale you could do even better. But to be completely honest the only people who can tell the difference between a 2010 vs 2011 (or really any other s197/s550 for that matter) are other mustang/car guys. Everyone else just sees a 'Mustang'(And i've gotten way, way more compliments on this car than the BMW I traded in for it)
>>28936444>A new roof is $5k on a house worth $400k-1milOn what fucking planet are you getting a new roof on a $1 million house for $5k? Is your mommy's roof made of straw? Found the Zoomer that clearly never owned a home, you're spending $30k for a roof on a 4,000 sq/ft house if you're LUCKY.
>>28936439Just use the correct oil, dummy
>>28936358That's true, although leasing means after the warranty is not your problem (unless you lease longer than the warranty - ishygddt) which is why most krautshit gets leased. But you can easily buy a used mustang - without wet timing belts and digital dash etc - for about the money OP wants to spend renting one. I have put over 70k miles on my $20k f150 (had 200k when I bought it.) no monthly payments is brilliant, although every six months or so I do have to spend about a payment's worth on parts.
>>28936713yea...s550 prices have kind of gotten retarded. I don't understand it. the s197's still drive very nice and have aged well.Spend a lil bit an get an MGW shifter as well...
>>28936731nah, i put a new roof on one of my houses last year for $10k, 3500 sq/ft 6 bed home
>>2893659512k miles is probably per year. Still not many and it's a huge pita worrying about it.
Absolutely insane that a v8 is now over 50k. Idk wtf Doge and Chevy are doing but they need to get their heads out of their ass. Also fuck Biden and also liberals for inventing CAFE standards and ruining literally everything fun in my life.
>>28936731>On what fucking planet are you getting a new roof on a $1 million house for $5k?On a planet where new million dollar houses are built on 30'x50' lots. And $30k for a roof? Either you're still in diapers or a woman and the contractor took you for a ride.
>>28936736>Just use the correct oil, dummyThey didn't even have the right oil at ford dealerships.
Brother the cool thing about 911s and Mustangs and M5s and corvettes is they’re always cool and in some ways the older ones are cooler. Don’t spent $26k to borrow one for three years when you can buy your own for less and just fix it yourself. It’s a Mustang. It’s not like they have crazy problems.
I'm in Balkans, I want a fucking stang so badFound a beautiful used 2024 ecoboost (spoilers and shit) for 35k euros in Germany, I'm getting it brossome of them have a separate screen, some of them have it combined, what's up with that? I thought all ecoboosts are the same
>>28936872Dont buy a fucking ecoboost balknigger it’s just a commuter car at that point
>>28936873exactly? there's no point in a v8 in a city where 1km takes 20 minutes to cross
>>28936874there's always a point to a v8 :)
>>28936879>10k euros more just so I can be a nigger at traffic lights
>>28936731 >$400k house>4000 sqftI think that planet is anywhere that's not a flyover shithole like we live in mate. one of my schoolmates offered $1.2 mil on a 1400 sqft on a quarter acre in Seattle and got outbid. That was a few years ago.
>>28936881why do you want a mustang anyways.
>>28936885because both ecoboost and v8 look equally amazingbecause an ecoboost is still a super fun and fast car
>>28936888The new S650 Egoboosts are fukkan phast bruhI hope you enjoyBut don't get scammed on the single big screen (Premium trim). It's the same exact screens as the dual screens, just joined with 1 big plastic frame. They charge $2,300 more for that(yes new cars are a fucking scam, and Ford execs need to suffer in hell)
>>28936006I stopped reading at the>no i want the one that has 150 pounds of bullshit added onpart
>>28936959the 2.3 is open deck with weak block bracing, 350hp/400tq is roughly all you can get out of it without chewing through motors or tossing cash for internals
>>28936628>counted the wordsKEK you're trying too hard loser
>>28937091do you actually think I sat down and did it manually like some kind of caveman?
>>28936006I just bought an older one cuz savings and the 2017 is objectively the best nustang and i paid with cash money instead and spent the savings on big fuck off brakes, race tier suspension, performance mods and nigger rims with wider rears of course
