I’ve recently taken the MSF course and am looking for a first bike. I’m into cruisers mostly and there are a few VTX1300s near me for decent prices. I know these bikes are quite heavy, but are they rideable for a beginner?
Cheap, reliable, great sound. Get the C.
>>28937182why are you getting a first bike that's above 1000cc
>>28937182They are heavy and cumbersome anon you'll drop it doing a low speed manouver and not be able to pick it back up at a gas station and foids will point and laugh at you. Also it won't take well to being dropped bc of all that chrome and metal and shininess and then you'lll have a chopped ghetto ass lookin hog. So get a cheap Honda rebel or maybe an enduro with plastic bits on it so you don't care if you drop it, then get the VTX later once you have the skillz to respect it.
>>28937189Fpbp>>28937182Just get it anon and respect the machine. Take your time and know your limits.
>>28937182Don't get a nice bike as your first. You will drop it. If you can find one so ratted out you don't care about it- go for it, otherwise, get a Rebel and have a full license to thrash it.
>>28937216>Don't get a nice bike as your first. That's why he's looking at a honda
>>28937182Vtx1300 is an intermediate bike, the throttle is easy to handle because it's a mild mannered torque bike but more than enough to find trouble especially for a beginner. The difficulty is the handling because it's heavy. They're great bikes but you have to be strong to handle moving that thing at low speed. When they're moving the weight disappears, it becomes stability these ride incredibly stable. For how low they're going for these days (in an age where everything is fucking expensive) you get so much bike
>>28937220Honda or not, you're fixing it after you drop it before you ride again. Cheap ubiqtous bikes are cheaper and easier to fix, so you'll go back to riding sooner.
>>28937182Yes. In these bikes you dont have to go fast to enjoy the sound and you can flat foot it no matter your height making it harder to drop.
>>28937182if you need to ask, the answer is 'probably not'but it'll be your nuts on the tank, do as you please.
>>28937182anon you COULD get a heavy cruiserbut you could also get an SV650 and learn how to wheelie
>>28937182You trying to die? That is way too powerful for a beginner
>>28937415a heavy calm bike with lots of torque and too much length to wheelie is actually a decent pick for a first bike. but out of these, nothing comes remotely close to a bmw boxer for that particular job.
>>28937182Fun Lil bikes
>>28937208They're not hard to pick up.
Get the 1800. I got one for my first motocycle season last year. Has served me well. $1k. Took it on a 1400 mile trip in the fall, planning a 2700 mile trip at the end of june - i have no doubt the bike will stand up to it. Vtxoa and vtxcafe are the forums, vtxoa even has their own /pol/
>>28937606the cargo capacity cannot be overstated.
>>28937606The 1800 handles like trash compared to the 1300
>>28937609do u even lift bro? Its a big croozer you need to be a big dude to ride it.
>>28937612Doesn't change that it handles like trash even for a croozer
>>28937612You don't need to be a big dude lol I'm a smol 130lb twinklet and ride the big boomer croozer no problem, I even picked it up the two times I dropped it
>>28937630Hes projecting. Guarantee hes some chubby fuck
Just get the cheapest bike in your area thats not too heavy and get this one next year
>>28937182>is a 700lb bike good to learn balance on /o/?lol, lmao even.
