>me, apprentice car mechanick
>could buy probably-made in india set of ratcheting wrenches at canadian tire or firstie set for double the price
-canadian tire is also literally just a jeet immigration scam now
>big fan of living within means and immune to snap-on marketing but also hate globohomo
>insert middle-period tumblr thought here about no ethical consumption during late capitalism or something, but can you claim to oppose globohomo and then give it your money?
>do i have integrity or am i just a retarded poorfag

Sorry you don't have harbor freight in Canada
>>
>>28938268
Buy Taiwanese tools
>>
>>28938268
buy metrinch when they're on sale and you'll have tools that can fit both metric and imperial nuts, that also deal with rounded ones too
>>
>>28938268
you can get tools pretty easy just look for an independent handyman’s van they prob keep all their tools in it
>>
>>28938268
You don't want the indian tools, unless you've always wanted tools made out of pot metal. Also canadian tired is a ripoff shithole. Their prices are so kiked
>>

isn't that just princess auto?

my coworker told me he bought a set of mastercraft maximum wrenches, sizes 1/4" to 1-1/8" and a metric set of 4mm to 24mm, in like 2012 for about $25 each and they came with a free set of wee stubby wrenches
now each of those sets is like 150 shekels and that's on sale
>>
>>28938421
There's a reason the ""sale"" price goes to 50% off and they're still making 99% profit.
As I quit working there they were replacing half the staff with smelling indians because they could get subsidized wages.

bro, just buy used off facebook marketplace.
For powertools order direct from Japan (I get all my makita stuff from japanese auction sites and get them shipped using a border agent)

to the junk store / garage sale to get some quality second hand tools
>>
Just buy the 400 piece master craft set, I'd also suggest switching into a real trade, at least get into diesels or heavy equipment.

OP again
Marketplace is a good suggestion, though unfortunately where I am there are a lot of scams on there due to Demographic Change
>>28941451
Indeed, I've actually gotten most of my tools used at flea markets or off kijiji/markeplace. Where I am the old retiring guys still bring their stuff to flea markets and I've gotten some decent deals there
>>28941675
A lot of what's in the Mastercraft set would be duplicates for me, also the prices at Canadian Tire are a little bit kosher now
A lot of guys buy the big Stanley set as well, but again, most of it would duplicate tools I already have
>a real trade
Right you are, I started out in semi-trailer repair which is not so great in terms of the pay vs. the work you put in, but I'm planning to and hopefully will get into either diesel truck or choochoo repair soon inshallah
