is it ok to put in a bigger battery in my car than what came in stock?

i mean all batteries have the same voltage right

Assembled in India soon. :)

Shit hands
>>
No
>>
>>28941252
Yes of course.

Yeah, it's fine. Just make sure you can still get the holddowns in place, so it doesn't rattle or short out on a crossmember. Those Li's look like individual packs - I wonder how they're ALL ready to pop?

yes or no?

if yes, does that mean i can get a cheapo battery like a valuecraft thats bigger and it will be the same as a more expensive smoler battery?

No. 400V and 800V are both in use. Unless you're talking about the 12V battery.

Depends.
>i mean all batteries have the same voltage right
Wrong.
Same voltage - yes
Higher ampage - yes
Lower ampage - no
Different capacity - yes
Different size? - if it fits it fits, just make sure it's bolted down and secure as previously mentioned.
If you got a stop-starter, permanently disable that shit or make sure you get a battery that can handle it, most lead acid don't.

Binomial failure on the third distributor or a faulty charger/charging circuit. Probably the latter. Could also be environmental but I can't see any damage that would colobrate this.

If I want extra capacity and lower weight, is it beneficial and safe to go with lithium battery on the car that originally came with a normal battery?
>>
>>28941252
I slapped a 52Ah battery in my Twingo to replace the completely dead 40AH unit that came with it when I bought it, just make sure you get something in the same form factor.

Yes, but...
These lithium batteries are made to provide 12V, so it shouldn't be a problem, but some newer cars do a lot of monitoring on the battery and might be spooked, if the replacement battery behaves differently than expected.
BMW has an own "battery controller" that monitors the battery and requires you to "activate" a new battery via OBD.
I'd probably look for reviews or experiences with the specific car/battery combination.

Two things to look out for, lithium car battery marketing is full of big bullshit like "cold cranking amperage equivalent." The second is make sure it has a built in BMS or the car's charging system might fry the battery. So onto the first point, of CCA "equivalent," lithium batteries behave quite differently than lead batteries under extreme load seen in starting a car. Lithium batteries can't output as much current as lead but their voltage doesn't sag as hard as lead when pushed hard which means higher cranking voltage at a reduced current. It's a voltage vs current debate in the wattage wars similar to torque vs rpm in the horsepower race. Now this shouldn't be a problem because wattage is wattage, however, in extreme cold weather this could translate to less reliability over an agm type lead battery, especially with the usually reduced amp-hour rating lithium batteries have. The main advantage of lithium right now is about a 66% savings in weight for a battery system that's actually less reliable than glassed or gelled lead battery
>>
it dont fuckin matter as long as the cranking amps are the same

I think you still need smth like an AGM battery that can handle the faster charging start stop cars have
