need your help, /o/this is a 2E-E EFI engine from a 1991 Corolla EE90Li noticed that the black thing, where i have my finger, is disconnected from the grey thing (it rusted through), is it safe to go on a long trip like this? chatgpt says it's just a tube that feeds hot air that helps with cold starting or something and that it should be safe to run
That's just for cold climates and even then it's basically pointless nowadays, it was there to keep the carburetors from freezing up too much and indeed to help with cold starts, never had that connected in any of my cars.
>>28942810hmm ok, i thought so too. thanks!

>>28942793Brutal. Why are you even fucking around with this rusted ass garbage? What do you get out of it.
>>28942793Change your brake fluid.
>>28943213it's my dad's daily driver. i live in a poor country where every other car was made in the last millenium
>>28943213you're a retarded idiot if you think that picture's surface rust makes this garbage. or you know nothing about engines. This thing is covered with signs of pride of ownership.>undamaged plug wires>fresh PCV valve and in-tack plastic elbow>wiped off oil cap and dip stick handle>mostly new looking brake master cyl>clean battery and terminalsthe worst thing in this pick is the dirty brake fluid that needs flushed badly, but thats a pain without a pump, or a 2nd person so thats understandable as a job that gets put off in a poor country.
>>28942810interdasting, jap version of the heat crossover/riser on old american engines.i think it's not really needed with today's fuels, i need to block mine off.
>>28943232>>28945104the thing in the upper right corner, right? it isn't breaking that well, that makes sense
