Should I buy a used e-troon?
>German
>used
>electric
>"luxury"
>cheap

I am making a smart decision, right br/o/s?
>>
Yeah, buying a massively depreciated electric car from a brand known for electrical problems and insane repair bills seems like a fantastic idea
>>
If you can't afford it new, then you can't afford it used either.
>>
Take the price of it brand new and take 40% of it's value plus whatever your buying price is and think about it

>brand known for electrical problems
Oh yeah, I used to have 1st gen A6 and had to scrap it(sell to Albanian) due to electrical problems.
It was very comfy, I guess that's why I considered the etroon.

Why is this bad? It's a life hack.

is this the one with rear drum brakes?
>>
>>28943772
its sort of confusing cuz i think they made two and one is smaller and has the drum brakes (q4 etron) and the other was known as the q6 etron then they renamed it just the etron, something like that. Both are not gonna last long. EVs suck and Audi put no more effort than necessary into making them.

The MEB platform which underlies all of VW's small EV efforts is awful and was designed under duress in the wake of dieselgate and they've been promising to replace it but won't for another 5 years.

The "PPC" platform they use for compact and larger models is the same as it was in 2007 just a 3rd revision (i.e. its not all new) its just MLB EVO 2 (mlb being the name of the longitudinal platform audi uses)

the Q7 dates to 2011. It's like Honda, they sorta quietly went out of business and just sell old vehicles and EVslop nobody wants.

You don't think there's a good reason these things lose like 70% of their value within 3 years?

Q4 has drum brakes
Q6 is the newer PC platform.
E-Tron / Q8 e-tron which it was rebranded too is its own platform that was developed around 2014-2016 first as an EV then as a hybrid and hydrogen and then back as an EV.
It is an EV that came out late with too much weight and to short of range but has a nice modern interior that Audi used afterword until this year.
They seem to have a lot of problems not related to the battery as well as major problems with the battery and with electric motors.
Hard to tell anyone to buy one over a Tesla model 3 for the same price as the Tesla is vastly superior in every way and even Audi knew this about 2 years into development but it was too late to change.
I don’t even think the Q6 is good by EV standards and the Q4 is a disaster.
