Even GM, despite making DOHC V8s, persistently sells pushrod engines and improves them. Mazda gave up on the rotary. it just isn't worth it over designing a good 4banger.

History is repeating itself, in the 50s and 60s Japanese cars and motorcycles were seen as 2nd rate trash compared to American made vehicles, by the 80s and 90s Japanese vehicles became world class, some even surpassing both American and European heirloom class cars. Chinese vehicles in the 00s were a joke but now here in the late 20s, you have cfmoto producing a motogp prototype and the Ford CEO grey marketed imported a Chinese EV to daily drive. Western cars are over, Eastern takeover is about to enter its 3rd generation (1st Japanese, 2nd Korean, 3rd Chinese). Then you have motorcycle makers like Royal Enfield who went from being "lol made in India" to surpassing Harley by a huge margin, RE now provides more reliability, authenticity, and value compared to American or Japanese rivals. We basically regulated our companies to death and the majority of those regulations are counter intuitive with how the rest of the world builds real estate and so our cars are not only useless in their country but our cars come with so much compromises they're inconvenient to drive in most cities around the world, that's why nobody outside of the US buys our cars.

They did, it's called the 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette. The only reason I'm selling it is because I bought an R34 Skyline GTT because it's the one car of the era I prefer over the C5. Also, I'm tired of low roof coupes, I'm too tall to be fucking with that shit every day, the R34 is more sedan-like in posture and easier to live with as a result. A BMW M3 would be cool, too, but has all the typical era BMW problems.
