One day, maybe 30-40yrs from now, you'll be driving that forever car you own down the street, thinking everyone's envious, meanwhile they're just thinking "get that shit off the street gramps"
>>28945267This statement is only applicable in America rest of the world no.
Maybe they're saying that. But I'm not the one spending 10 years paying $200,000 for a pickup truck with a $75k MSRP.
>>28945267And I won't care because they're all wrong.
>>28945267i drive a 60 year old car and the jaw dropped-stares on kids faces never fails to give me a shit-eating grin
>>28945267There's a few people in my area who have forever cars I see around town and they're all based>1964 Rover 3500>1990 Chyrsler New Yorker with the turbo>W140 Mercedes S300 diesel>1953 Buick Roadmaster>1962 Jaguar E-Type>Y33 Nissan Cima with the twin turbo V6>1989 Toyota Crown with legit 500,000 miles >72 Mercury Marquis coupeMy ex also has one of the last Pontiac Firebirds built at the Van Nuys, Los Angeles factory. It runs poorly to engine flooding but still works and has like 200,000 miles on it and she's not going to get rid of it and dailies a fucking Kia Borrego. Her dad has a Cressida with about 228,000 miles too. I have a 20 year old VW Phaeton I use on specially occasions and a Land Cruiser with 312,000 miles on it and daily a BMW X1. No reason to get rid of a car with high mileage if you maintain it. I'm looking at buying that Rover 3500 when the owner eventually stops driving or buying one of the few Rover SD1 units brought into the US.
>>28945359>>1989 Toyota Crown with legit 500,000 miles1uz? or 7m/2jz?
>>28945363Not sure. It's an old dude I see at least a few times a week around town. He's probably told me but I don't remember. The head gasket has leaked pretty consistently every decade so probably the 7M. Looks like this but with that tri tone where the bumpers and roof are different colors.
>>28945379yeah sounds like 7m things lol. although if the head gasket is torqued up properly that engine would probably last forever otherwise.mustn't be a model with the air suspension then either, can't get oe airbags anymore, only option is either someone that can rebuild them (if that's even a thing) or KS racing in thailand sell a replacement set for about 3-4 grand.
>>28945267>meanwhile they're just thinking "get that shit off the street gramps"What ghetto are you from where people actually think this way? Sounds miserable
>>28945385The people who worked on those are now all middle aged or old and are way more used to the JZ. I don't think the late 7M was prevalent at all apart from Cressida and Supra which only saw large sales in California. He did get new airbags this year but no idea where from. Arnott here in the US makes a Lexus kit that can in theory fit these.
>>28945403No where. He's a third worlder pretending he knows what it's like in the first world
>>28945357based. What jalopy?
>>28945327This, why should I give a shit what anyone else thinks about my shitbox? I drive it because I like it.
>>28945267I'm not a social media addicted zoomer nigger like you so I don't care.
>>28945359>My ex also has one of the last Pontiac Firebirds built at the Van Nuys, Los Angeles factoryI have an average condition tree fiddy Formula but since it's in Europe even zoomer roasties gawk at the car wherever I'm driving. It's really funny actually.
