i can only speak for the US, but no. actually, decades of people (insurance agents and policyholders) scamming car insurance companies and making other shitty decisions has turned the entire industry into a massive house of cards that now fucks everybody over. it's a completely broken system broken by both the provider and the consumer and it will only get worse. like healthcare, there is no "fix" for it, either the entire system needs to be revamped from the ground up, or we continue to patch it up with chewing gum and paperclips and pretend nothing is wrong with it while people go broke paying for it.

That was a long-winded way of saying it IS a scam.

become rich enough to self-insure

insurance premiums are just another tax on the poors

It's redistributing risk from individuals across a larger group, and taking a profit off the top. So its a scam at the macro level, but you're not personally being scammed.

If you never cause an accident, it's a bad value for you and you can see it as a scam. The problem is that when some retard smashes into you at a stoplight and they don't have insurance or any assets to speak of, now you just got fucked out of a car.

And so insurance is basically forcing all the good drivers to subsidize the bad drivers and paying the insurance company a government regulated amount for the privelige. Everyone gets fucked in the ass just a little bit so nobody is getting raped to death.

Pretty much. You may pay $1k+ a year for insurance for the rest of your life and they will likely never pay you a dime if you never get into an accident. Sure you will likely get a lot more than your car is actually worth if you total it but that doesn't exactly make it worth it considering what you pay over a lifetime. I have full coverage on my 20 year old shitboxes which doesn't make a whole lot of financial sense. Technically I could just get basic coverage and pocket the difference then just buy a new shitbox if mine get totaled. It is easier to just get a cheque from them though.

>we're denying your claim, no cheque for you :))
>you can sue us and win but the cost is more than what we'd pay you :)))

Nope. You'll kindly and timidly exchange insurance information with the fat person that hit you, only to find out that they don't have any, and that your insurance will have to cover everything. Your neck will hurt really badly, but you'll pretend it doesn't and instead ask the driver that hit you if they're okay. You'll speak politely and softly to the police officer as he writes the report (he'll have to ask you to speak up several times because you're mumbling), stating that you were partially at fault because he determines that there was something you could have done to prevent the accident; you'll nod your head and agree. You'll pay the rate hike on your premium when your policy renews, and you'll do that with every insurance company you sheepishly shop around with in the future, paying whatever they ask for the next seven years until the accident falls off your record. And then it will happen again.

Doesn't matter. I can get a new car. They can't un-rape their child.

I've made a profit after every hit I've taken. My headlights cost over 2k new and they can be had refurbed on ebay for less than 400$. My insurance also only covers CAPA parts which is strange because OEM is 25-30% cheaper almost every time. I made 3200$ after expenses on my last hit lol.
>>
>>28948149
ive made so much more profit from not paying car insurance for 20 years.

beaner or nigger detected. whites get pulled over automatically if a cop with a plate reader gets behind us with no insurance. they let you guys go because you're indingent and uncollectable.

insurance is just another form of gambling execpt the jackpot is something you usually don't want to go out of your way to win
you throw 4-ish figures a year into the slot machine and see if you get a payout
maybe nothing happens, then the house wins
maybe you do hit the jackpot when you get t-boned by an uninsured fence-hopper , now suddenly insurance doesn't seem so scammy when you see that the uninsured motorist option you put in your policy just paid for your replacement car
and like a regular casino if the jackpot is large enough to give a shit about the agency will pull every trick it can get away with to make sure you don't see a dime

at the end of the day all that determines if you got your money's worth from insurance is that the total sum over your lifetime you got from them is more than you gave them

Not just a scam, a jewish scam

Newsflash, you can vote to change things.

If everyone voted to make it non mandatory then they're forced to change.

Or we can all seethe together incompetently

Have an uninsured person run into you and then ask this question again.
>b-b-but i'll sue
you won't see a dime

You havent figured it out yet but

>you vote whoever in
>you voted for a person not a policy
>their campagn donations all came from corporations and (((them)))
>does whatever they are told 1st term
>does only what (((they))) want second term because they can't run again
>they retire very wealthy and you just got poorer over the last 8 years

Why? I've been hit by so many fuckers. Last one was in a parking lot where I was four car lengths away from a merc SUV. It then flipped into reverse and drove directly into me. Annoyed, sure but it happened so much I just told them to give me their license, insurance and that I'll be going to a shop and they can pay for the repair or open an insurance case if they want to make it hurt more. Got my car into a shop two days later and within five days I had a nicer shitbox courtesy of the Chinese old woman driving like a Chinese old woman. Funniest part was how scared her and her son were that I would sue them (he was a VP in a local tech company). They even made me sign a little piece of paper post them paying the work. I just chuckled signed and got back into my shitbox

Car insurance should be mandatory, but it should be a government-run program so that the excess is fed back into something like road maintenance. The extra ongoing cost of insurance acts as a gatekeeper to prevent (discourage) the poorest people from driving vehicles, which is justified because the poorest people are also generally the most retarded and most dangerous behind the wheel.

There are exceptions to everything but on large scale statistically this works out.
>>
>>28946900
In principle yes.
You are paying someone else to bet on you not getting into trouble on the road, all while (you) do all the hard work to stay out of trouble on the road as a driver.
Putting the same amount you tithe to insurance into the stock market instead would make you more money, give you more freedom, and give you a better payout when you do get in a crash.
That’s literally what warren buffet did, except he was is the one in control of the insurance company and it’s money.

Only acceptable scenario for car insurance is if it’s a self driving car. Because then at least you’re paying for the car to drive for you, rather than pay while you do all the work.
