Okay?

Bose suspension was sold to a Massachusetts company that works heavily with BWI Group in China, who coincidentally is the suspension supplier for Jaecoo. They're also releasing MagneRide as some new tech despite it being used by Audi, Ford, and GM for decades.
American and German tech from decades ago. Oooohhhh, ahhh! Look at them copy homework!
>>
>>28947745
Also NIO, the company that made the OP car, also happens to use BWI group as a supplier. 30+ year old German tech, later sold to Americans, licensed to the Chinese.

Bose suspension was sold to a private US company but they did not adopt the Bose design (as it doesn't work in a real car) so they made their design. That new design is what's being licensed for building in china (for 2 years until the CCP copies it and forces them out). There are lots of these kinds of videos showing Chinese cars outdoing western ones but no-one, even people with access to Chinese cars has replicated the videos.

You can also make suspension look really good in videos like this by altering the spacing of bumps to be inline with the natural frequency of the suspension. Real-life ride quality is more about 1-wheel bumps/dips, heaves, irregular surfaces and even road noise etc.

>>28947826
high-end luxury cars have had active sway bars for this reason for years

I have no doubt the design has been changed and adapted over the years, as most thing do. Not exactly the "superior China tech" they shill it as in their little demonstrations.
>>
>>28947886
I mean its a very different design, the bose system was purely electromechanical. The new design is electrohydraulic, it can't provide sustained suspension lift or pull as the motor is only air cooled and requires 48V power.

Also western oems do have things similar (better IMO) to it (new panamera active suspension, D5 A8, W223 S-Class, new GLS etc.) But they are a very expensive option for already expensive cars.

>>

Americans did that multiple times with European technologies during the 20th century.
>>
>>28948115
That's a tradeoff most normies would make tbqh famalam
>>
>>28947718
Ah, I remember when the chinks disabled the Euro active suspension stuff and ran this test.

Sometimes I can admire how blatantly the Chinese are willing to lie and cheat.
>>
>>28947918
>it can't provide sustained
Nonsense.
Rest assured that their engineers have thoroughly researched and accommodated for Worst-case scenario roadways (of the first world) and then added a capacity margin above that.
Sorry that they couldn't accommodate for US thoroughfares...

LOL

Compete with what? Another heavy car with a 1.6L and a bunch of software gimmicks?
In the modern world "copy others" and "fake it til you make it" are the winners apparently. I was told that studying when I was young, working from the week I turned 16, and getting stem degrees would get me jobs. Turns out the entire American economy runs of social skills, not competency. I shoulda been banging bitches in high school, but noo I worked for a future that never came.
I'm a software engineer, the only software I want in my car is the software that runs the engine.

Bose had a superior system in the 90's. It was just too expensive at the time. Now however it could probably be done cheaply. The chinks probably stole the idea years ago and kept working on it like they do most things.

Go to school. Get a mechanical engineering degree which requires math from the last 100 years to graduate, get a software engineering degree, go in FSAE and become the team's driver as a teenager. Designed and manufactured our control arms out of stock metal. Be a machinist at 17 despite the age limit being 18 to run all of this. Learn metallurgy and materials science.
Or just talk shit on the internet. idk.
The American dream is dead, it's all social skills now, I, uh, am in the bottom 1%.
>>
>>28948871
Yes in the 60s Citroen had hydropneumatic, not much electronics though. Merc has had electrohydraulic suspension since 2000. But they are all very different to each other. Its a huge oversimplification to think that because the mechanism of action is the same the system has equal capability. I only mention it because explaining each system would take forever.

Magnetic suspension isn't anything new. The reason why they aren't applied as much is because of copyrights/patents, complexity, and price. It's been a thing since 80s. Even if manufacturers get licenses for patents to produce cars with such suspension, logistically it's cheaper to make bunch of cars with normal/conventional suspensions than with magnetic ones because of sheer complexity and price to repair the damn thing because surprise surprise, it's harder to do repairs and manufacturing is more costly. Sinophiles and chinks love flexing what everybody knows about already but nobody wants to think about costs and convenience, just like with all EVfags online.

Just like airmatic suspension and all those other fancy schmancy suspension tech, it's gonna be lovely right until you find out how much it costs to replace when it eventually wears down.
