>>28947992>E-20/30We can't grow sugarcane in sufficient amounts across my country, so unless my fellow Walmart shopper believes some Nebraskan politician's lies, I don't think these are an option here.>E-15It's not even legal for me to use this unless it has a dedicated pump because my motorcycle tank won't hold the minimum 4 gallons required by law.
It's becoming difficult to find gas station that don't contain this trash. sometimes, the ethanol-free pump will conveniently be (((out of service))).
What should I do since I have a little EFI scooter? Just buy rec90?
>>28947992We have E-10 in California as standard. All I've had to do to my 1980's is replace the fuel hose with PV1814-1 hose. I put FKM O-rings in the carbs if I have to get into them, but the standard Buna-n rings seem to fail at the same rate that they did in the old days. The stock rubber intake spigots don't seem to have any problems either.
>>28948018It's EFI, it will be fine.>>28948013How about Corn?
>>28947992fuck corn farmers, they should be hung from every corn stalk
>>28948042If we replaced the corn with solar cells we could power all the E-cars anyone would want. Even if the farm is in Nebraska.
Kek, another rube goldberg machine headache. Glad electrons all come in the same flavor for BEVs.
>>28948082>Hydrogen enters the chatSome electrons come from a better source.I keed. I'm trying to come up with the scratch for enough battery for my E-scooter to cruise at 90MPH and still get home on one charge.
>>28948039Nitrile is the cheapest garbage, of course they'll fail regardless. Silicone or Viton accept nothing else.
*laughs in diesel*
>>28948041>How about Corn?Corn yields 33% less ethanol per acre than sugarcane, while requiring more water and nitrogen relative to their ethanol output. It's a losing game unless everybody around here gets a lot cooler with being vegetarian.
We all voted for this Don't forget that.
>>28948041>>28948194Ethanol fuels are just an excuse for Big Ag to grift American tax payers via corn subsidies. They use fossil fuels to cultivate millions of acres of corn that serve no purpose other than to use more fossil fuel to refine into ethanol fuel to put in your car and fuck it up. Corn monoculture negatively impacts us by destroying topsoil, killing beneficial insects via pesticide use, causes uncontrolled erosion, and takes away acreage that could have been used to grow actual useful food crops. You should avoid ethanol wherever possible.t. grew up on a farm
>>28948194See, we could just be using R99 diesel from recycled animal/veggie fats. We live in a day and age where we can synthetically produce diesel fuel and even petrol but it's not done on scale. Ive owned several mechanical indirect injection diesels that accept everything from veggie oil to used hydraulic fluid with ZERO filtration. Driven countless miles while only spending a dollar or two on actual diesel. My newer TDI won't appreciate running suspicious waste fuels so much but it can still accept a good blend if it's been filtered enough It just seems like as a planet we're dropping the ball on renewable fuel for ICE engines.
