Honda apparently sank over $15 billion to develop their electric lineup, and scrapped all of it last minute. There wasn’t a single vehicle they could produce from that 15 billion?

>In the United States, the expansion of the EV market has slowed due to revisions to EV incentives and the easing of fossil fuel regulations, resulting in impacts such as a decrease in EV sales volume and an increase in sales incentives.
>In China, while the EV market continues to grow, competition has intensified due to the rapid emergence of new EV manufacturers.
> Impairment losses mainly on property, plant and equipment and other non-current assets (including manufacturing equipment) related to EV models in North America for which the Company decided to discontinue production or cancel development and market launch, as well as impairment losses on intangible assets (capitalized development costs) related to EV models discontinued in North America and certain EV models in China. The recoverable amount of these non-financial assets is measured at fair value less costs of disposal; however, as the assets cannot be practically sold or repurposed, the Company assessed the fair value less costs of disposal as zero.

any other things you need spoonfed to you, retard?

not just EVs, the total number of ICE vehicles sold slowed down. Turns out, making EVs isn't as simple as making ICE cars, time to learn how to do software development.

Did they bet everything on the US? Why? The US has never been a good fit for electric cars. Tesla did well because they were first, and sold everything as a package (car, charging infrastructure, software subscription etc). But them doing well is no guarantee any other company would do well.

First time?

Ultimately Honda is failing because none of their vehicles are desirable. Toyota does every single thing better.

>manufacturer hops on the EV hype
>loses tons of money
>manufacturer keeps selling normal cars
>does fine
guys I think I have figured it out, where is my 7-figure management salary.

All their cars are ugly, it's a shame. Toyotas are also far away from beautiful but at least the tech is very good.

I blame poor EV sales.

they shouldve made the ridgeline electric, it would suit the kind of buyers that even buy ridgelines from honda

This is what they blame, but I think it has more to do with faltering reliability. Honda is Gookslop tier now and not because Korean cars have improved, but because Hondas from the past 15-20 years have been getting progressively worse, to the point that it is very noticeable now. Hell, 10 years ago, it was noticeable. Honda is only just waking up that it is not the badge of quality it once was, and, frankly, it may be too late.
