Its official, I have outgrown i-4 engines.
I got this GX and now all I keep thinking about is my Triumph Tiger and its triple.

The GX is a pretty great bike.
I grew up on i-4’s so thought thats what I was missing, the 150HP.
However there’s a certain element to how Triumph makes its triples which is just very hard to find in twins/i4’s
Try out a 900 before you make your decision.
>>
>>28949174
I’ve heard the panam inperson and it just sounds ugly, the motor doesn’t have the sweet sweet whistle of a triumph.
Think im gonna retire with a Tiger
>>
>>28949177
my two potential upgrade paths were the GX and the Tiger 1200. the Tiger 900 seems like a downgrade based on less power

all 3 seem like a lateral move. more power but also heavier, and a lot more expensive (considering my bike is probably worth $10k trade-in, and a GX or 1200 would probably cost me another $15k on top of my trade-in)
>>
>>28949184
I think when you’re on a Tiger 900 with a 19 or 21 inch front wheel you won’t want speed. The handling, braking, down-shifts on that motor is what’ll make your experience memorable.
Make no mistake the linear torque and power on tigers will still throw you back in your seat.
It wont feel slow one bit, and I’m saying that coming from the 850 sport (detuned 900) with 84hp and I’ve had 2 generations of R1’s
It never felt slow because its not supposed to be a race bike
Just a very fast ADV

I didn't know exhaust sound was decided by having plastic fairings or not

With the same pipe a sport bike is actually quieter in every way except potentially intake noise if it has a yuge airbox compared to the naked because it muffles more mechanical noise.

Can someone give their honest take, especially if they rode both of the following bikes:
Moved across the country and had to leave my CRF300L back home. Where I live now it wouldn't be well suited.

I want a new bike but I'm debating whether the 2026 CBR650r or RS7 would be a better fit.

Part of the issue with the 300L back home was that it was very limited if I ever had to do highway riding which I typically avoided because the poor thing felt like she was being overworked. Where I currently moved to there is plenty of highway driving and people here aren't exactly doing the speed limit, having some extra juice for merging from highway onramps would be important to me.

Anyone have experience with the e-clutch, is it as great as some of the reviewers make it out to be in areas of lots of stop & go traffic? The R7 seems to have a much better compliment of electronics compared to the Honda. Also the shorter wheelbase and lighter weight, the bike appears to be more nimble.

My experience with motorcycle's are one season with the CRF300L & MSF. If it matters I'm in my younger 30's and generally cautious driver/rider, I avoid acting like a squid.

Thank you.

I want to make a Death By Throttle or DBT plate frame, any suggestions or requests?
>>
Hi guys. Can anyone recommend an in-the-ear bluetooth earbud for riding?
Issues:
I wear a hearing aid but not while I'm riding. It is fully in-the-ear and not noticable. That's the form factor I'm looking for.

The problem is all the ear buds I see now are bulky. Slide the helmet on and it pulls the ear bud our/off my ear.

The ones I used to have were wired together and I'd loop the wire over the top of my ear to hold it in place. Sometimes it did, sometimes not. But it was still bulky.

So a truly, 100% in the ear solution would be nice.
>>
>>28949642
Top part where it says racing development have it say Death By Throttle then have DBT on the lower portion where it says WAT

Would be pretty clean, could also make a baukon weeb one too with all the characters on it

Dear Shoomer diary blogposters,
I successfully renegotiated the piston clearance tolerances timeline with my two adeptus mechanicus bros
I guess honder nikasil coatings are 5mils and thats way thicker than 3 mil kawaiisaki or the unknown department of forsaken yamaha (paraphrased from the honda mechanicus)
Im only missing the key ingredient of crocus cloth for polishing some aluminum bits, and finishing up thee minor cleaning process
Then i will attempt the topend rebuilds process probably around tomorrows and the crf450rl can finally awaken from sleepy hibernations time
But even after its rebuilt, the grievous task of reconnecting his nervous system electricals and remembering which bolt where and how to connect hozes- that is truly the part i dont wana fugup
I hate electrical combonents so much its unreal

Also going to skip the thermostat delete since this isnt dakaar racing timelines, but rather the frozen oblast
Its just gonna be a cunt to get that particular portion reinstalled, the frame between the cylinder head and the thermostat sticking out awkwardly does not lend itself to a peaceful and easy retrieval

UJM and harley accessibility is a forgotten art of building the motorcycle- but i cant really blame dual sport copers for trying to make a dirtbike streetlegal

Its probably way easier to take a factory dirtbike and make it street legal than it is for the dual sport from factory fuckaround with its bloated electronics and cram it all into the subframe assembly

Where did it all go so wrong, engineerium bros
Why cant we have nice accesible things to work on?
At least this isnt a diesel block or modern cager cope session, i would probably just give up unless i had the boomerwaffen supervisor's direct instruction and proprietary tools from forgotten eras

Anyways bros. I have officially graduated wrenchlette school and am off to the final examinations: wether or not i will have another asploding incident upon first sparkie
Hopefully not
Its been a fun ride

I like my R7, would recommend, haven't tried the Honda though. I got it since it was basically an MT07 with fairings to keep me out of the wind.
Pretty easy to work on, fairly popular so parts and aftermarket are abundant.
It's definitely nimble, position is a bit aggressive but not committed so if your not used to it it can hurt your wrists till you get the hang of using your lower body more. Ive never felt lacking on the highway, and since there's torque everywhere I've basically never stalled it when I was a new rider.
>>28949499
I would have if it was stateside, I adore the styling. Ive been wanting to get the 919

Hit 200 miles today dialing her in. Got the suspension just about where I want it for the street but I need a higher spring rate shock sooner than later. Clutch cable was pulling the bike to the right hands free, fixed that. Still waiting on a few parts.

>>28949480
>The R7 seems to have a much better compliment of electronics
If you're talking about the 2026, yeah. It has the R9 electronics package, which is derived from the R1.

But the bigist thing you need to know is the R7 has a much more committed seating position. The R7's clip-ons are under the triple tree and swept down, whereas the CBR650r clip-ons are over the top. R7 feels like it was designed to be an entry level track day bike you can ride on the street, and it qualifies in a lot of twins class club racing events with a few safety mods. In fact that's where most the R7's new electronics are focused, for example you can turn off rear ABS or how the cruise control has a pit speed limiter function. CBR650r is a more road focused sportbike.
>>
>>28949729
How do you like the updated electronic package on the 2026? Intrusive? Has it saved your butt, are the different ride modes noticeable?

I rode a Honda Mango for the 2023 season. I've been meaning to make a video about it with the pictures and footage I got while I had it. But long story short, this is the most "I just want A motorcycle and I just want to ride a motorcycle type" bike I've come across. It's reliable, smooth, fast enough to be fun, comfortable, generally just nice. It's also dogshit for customizing, and lacks both the character of a sportbike and the character of a cruiser. If you are an introvert and just want to ride a motorcycle without any of the attached drama, this is the bike for you. But splitting the difference between sportbike and cruiser perfectly down the middle is far less interesting than you would expect.
>>
>>28949786
Disagree. Those magnas have unbelievable amount of sovl. Literally no crusier revs as high as that V4 (which is a rare engine on its own, let alone packed in a crusier)
It's a crusier, not a sport bike or trying to be one by any stretch of the imagination. It's a middle weight, if you can't appreciate the nuance of a mid weight machine thats a solid all-rounder (by crusier standards) then of course you won't find it interesting. Glad you didn't make a video because it wouldn't be an accurate one from how you frame the magna.
