Name a single reason why I shouldn’t buy one.
>>
It's a $50k crossover
You can literally get a real bronco or trd for that much. And you'll say "but those have turbo 4 cylinders and this has a V6" but that doesn't matter when the engine is turned the wrong way and power the wrong wheels, plus longevity doesn't matter in this day and age because no one is putting 150k miles on anything anymore. You'll trade it in in 5 years so who cares
>>
A pale copy of the real thing.

Passport Trailsport Williamsport Roadsport Sportsportsport
>>
you will never go off road, lets be honest
so just get the cheaper pilot with the same engine and more space
>>
Worse in every category than any pick up for competition without any benefit or merit on it's own
>>
>>28950402
the trailsport has softer suspension for trail shit. are you going on trails often? if not, dont waste money on that version.
>>
>>28950402
wtf is the point of these stumpy yet giant crossovers? My SUV has more cargo room behind it's third row than this has behind it's second row. Why don't you just get the Pilot?
>>
>>28950548
>projecting
I’m not doing any rock climbing but I’m constantly innawoods.
That’s not enough for a body and frame vehicle, that’s why I’m eying a cuckover
>>
>>28950779
>on frame*
obv
>>
>>28950779
Unironically get a crosstreck
>>
>>28950608
>what’s the point
hauling things or sleeping in them when heading innawoods or innadesert
>>
>>28950784
Not enough space for my 6‘7 ass to sleep in. I need at least 80“ diagonale space
>>
>>28950458
>toyoda in current year
yeah not dealing with their garbage dependability
>>
>>28950794
what about an outback? I dont know your situation but it feels like a honda passport is overpriced and overkill

the subaru outback wilderness was designed for you
>>
>>28950794
You're not going to be able to sleep in a Passover or an Outback either at that height. If you're actually that tall you're going to need a full sized SUV unless you really like sleeping in the fetal position. I'd go for a Sequoia if you can handle the crippling fuel economy or a Suburban. It's nice not having to Tetris your gear in and being able to sleep fully stretched out on a flat floor.

Get some old shitter you won't mind scratching then
>>
>>28950802
damn that thing is ugly.
And I bet it’s a 4banger too
>>
>>28950779
>I’m constantly innawoods
The last thing you want is a trannyverse-engined, FWD-biased "AWD" crossover. Especially with plastic ground clearance and fake plastic skid plates.
>>
>>28950871
hit me with a recommendation then

Aren't trail sports just cosmetic?
>>
>no locking hubs or differential
>no true 4X4 system
>$50,000 for a fucking N/A V6
>>
>>28950870
4 banger with CVT. Still probably fine for transporting your golden retrievers to Lilithfair.
>>
>>28951241
I just watched an off road comparison between the passport and 4Runner trd pro.
The passport did well and in some scenarios even better than the 4Runner
>>
>>28950899
depends which model year and model
cr-v - yes
older passport/pilot = yes
newest gen - real skidplates
>>
>>28950548
I have a 23 Pilot Trailsport.
I'm not going rock crawling just occasional camping and fishing.
It has everything I need and nothing I don't.
Body on frame has its advantages but I'm not going to sacrifice daily comfort just to only be good off-road and absolutely shit at everything else.
Don't listen to the poorfags here, remember it's your money.
Also fuck turbos, NA is the way to go fuck the haters the engine will last forever.
>>
>>28951371
Why do you people think unibody cars ride better than BOF vehicles? A half ton pickup or a Suburban rides better than any Honda or Acura. You have rubber supports isolating the frame from the body. How is that better than everything mounted directly onto the body?
>>
>>28951768
>A half ton pickup or a Suburban rides better than any Honda or Acura
You've never been in a truck if you believe this.
>>
>>28951853
I've been in plenty as well as most crossovers. The trucks and the truck based SUV's always ride better. I'd say you're the one who's never been in a modern truck.
>>
>>28950402
No vehicle Honda makes is worth more than $30k, and you'd be spending $50-55k. get a 4runner or Land Cruiser made before covid, and it will be everything the Passport is pretending to be and more.
>>
>>28952156
>complete and utter garbage on the highway
>>
>>28951354
>Comparing a cosmetic package to an actual off-roader
>$20,000 difference in price
lol
lmao

>waaah 99% of my driving is highway commuting so i need the smoothest ride
you don't need a 4x4 SUV if your prime concern is highway driving, get a sedan or crossover instead. this kind of car buyer mentality is exactly why SUVS and pickups are garbage now
>>
>>28952336
>get a sedan or crossover instead.
Isn't that exactly what OP wants to do?

>>28951768
>Why do you people think unibody cars ride better than BOF vehicles?
Because I've driven both and I can literally feel the difference.
>>
>>28952156
>get a used car
I can smell the poorfag in this post.
