In previous games it was fast on the straights and slow in the corners, but on top of that once you get to difficulties of "Expert" and above the AI just drives past you on the straights no matter what you do. One of the final races is a lap around the ring road in Hypercars, I think it might be impossible at higher difficulties because no matter how fast you go the AI will go faster. On the plus side drafting actually works in this game.

ROLLER is now officially completely busy-wait free. I have refactored basically everything to callbacks/state machines. Release builds can use as little as 9% in top. As compared to always being over 100% no matter what even on a static page like it as-written when everything was while(1) everywhere. It is now ripe for porting to wasm and ios/android. My laptop doesn't even turn on a fan anymore when running this, before the fans would kick on to max.And not to worry, the game still plays exactly the same as it always did. Luckily the one thing that was already on a callback was all the control input/physics, a 36Hz timer from the sound card. That's still on an SDL timer as before.

There's people here who post LMU or iRacing webms instead of taking part in ovg races. Pre Covid you'd have a good rotation of people quitting and joining. Now it's just people quitting. Doesn't help either that all modern Sims lacks features that rfactor or rfactor derivative games have for their hosted multiplayer options. That includes AC too. So we're stuck playing AMS in current year. It sucks but desu at this point ovg is dead when it comes to actual racing. At least we had a good run tho
