You guys told me crossovers were modern slop
1946 Chevy Fleetmaster Sedan
vs
2026 Chevy Blazer

They look eerily similar.
>>
All cars were crossovers until the 1950s. Only then they started introducing lowered sedans. Now cars are becoming crossovers again, a retvrn to trve form.

THANK YOU!

Pay close attention to that height figure of the fleetmaster.
Its basically the same height as a modern crossover
Even though it's called a "sedan", its not like todays sedans

The biggest differences are styling and rearward visibility.

The year is 1946. There is no such thing as an interstate. Most roads are unpaved. Engines use heavy duty oil-based filters to keep out the dust. Wartime america is poor; families have one car and it must do everything.

The year is 2026. The interstates are ancient, look like the ruins of rome, and are filled with octodecillions of foreigners. Most other roads are made of potholeium. Cabin air filters are heavy duty and recirculate is always on to keep out the weed smoke. Race war america is poor; families have one car and it must do everything.

Similar conditions breed similar vehicles. This time around, however, the huge wheels with thin tires get destroyed by potholes because the car companies are also full of retarded foreigners. I'd take the '46.
>>
>>28952151
the kind of contrarians /o/ is full of would not have liked that car back in 46 either.
>>
>>28952151
I like that it's wearing a little hat.
>>
>>28952871
Honestly, I'd just say that ground clearance was always a good thing and it's retarded people tried to get rid of it after the 1990's with cars.

Good choice on the '46, though.
>>
>>28952438
either
>>
>>28952881
it made sense to bring the center of gravity down in the 1965 because we had roads that you could really benifit from it.
now not so much.
where I live there's no potholes but the roads buckle and crown from 18 wheelers so speeding on them feels like you're riding on the back of an ape skipping across stones.
>>
>>28952881
for me it's the 1946 Delahaye 135M
>>
>>28952910
Yea ground clearance is great. On my 70's sedan I can change my oil and filter, fuel pump, rad hoses, essentially any non-major maintenance item is doable without a jack. Only exception is transmission band adjustment, it's just a smidge too tight to cram my fatass far enough under
>>
Surprisingly similar beltline height. These windows weren't that big.

Fleetmaster
Roadwood
